Cruwear is a non stainless alloy "cold work" tool steel that is typically used in industrial knives and slitters and is considered an upgrade over D2 and used in some of the same applications. It is not designed for high speed use like M2, M4, M42, etc. That's where the cold work part com...

I would vote for something tougher, or not as brittle. A tool steel or high carbon or Elmax

One of the fixed Karambits I have has that exact problem on material unless using a full punch but I consider the spyderco serrations unique. On reflection they would be better being the flat ground type on the tenacious rather than the spyderedge as these cut like a plain edge , plus the last port...

That would be a an honour :D I actually have a design I drew to be commissioned by a custom maker a fixed karambit with a slight ramp at the top edge before the blade with jimping. And a finger guard with a stop on the underside (double edged) also jimped like the choil on the woodcraft if I were a...

Cruwear PM2

So I have seen some places listing that they will sell a CruWear Military

I am familiar with a lot of steels, but this one I have only heard of in passing. Anything think they can enlighten me?

Something about the name makes it sound like it has high strength and wear resistance.

Just personal taste but a fixed karambit with linen micarta with a spyderco symbol on the scales ... Cool personified . Now that sounds amazing. Good grip. I love micarta because it can even work if your hands get sweaty or its wet. I hope if spyderco does make a fixed blade, they take your advice ...
