Congrats on the Caly and thanks for sharing those pics. I never got into the Caly; between my Delica, R, and Native I just never saw it filling a need I didn't already have filled. Go for the XL! It's still my favorite Spyderco design even after all this time. I don't carry it as much as the others...

The yojimbo2 is really high on my current favorites list. My salts all get more actual use but I don't have any knife that is as fun to fondle as the yojimbo! Btw, I carried my sb caly 3.5 last night. No other knife I own disappears in the pocket like the caly! Amazing for the size blade it gives y...

Guys, I put just a couple drops of M-Pro 7 oil and she is smooth as glass! I am really starting to come on to this Caly! Which makes me think I've never added a drop of oil to the Vallotton..... hummm..... :)

The Caly series has a vibe that is rather different from other Spydie series of approximate size. In the series, I have an SB Caly 3.5 and love it, but feel unsatisfied not having one in VG10 (a steel too often forgotten in the quest for the best here). I need to do something about that, but in the...

New Caly 3.5

Arrived about 25 minutes ago. Was made March 2014. First impressions are very favorable. I will say that I have been spoiled by the Vallotton. You would not believe how nice that knife is to open. At any rate the Caly 3.5 is just what I wanted and then some. I was looking for Original Spyderco with ...

MacLaren, The domino is a great knife I just couldn't warm up to the carbon fiber pattern so I sold it. The new blue lighting strike cf looks nice though. Might have to pick one of those up because I really liked the knife. Totally understand. Thx for letting me know. BTW, would a born on date of B...

On a side note, my Caly 3.5 is a mile and a half away at the post office, but I have to wait for it to be delivered tomorrow as UPS will not let the post office give it to me.
Oh well....

I use the WE to reprofile. Sharpmaker if I need a quick microbevel (not often). Otherwise I use a Stropman HD compact with black and white compound, a Knivesplus stropblock with green compound, and a kangaroo leather strop with half micron diamond spray on it. Lol... Man, I got a lot to learn. ...b...
