I dunno, maybe.
I've just been seeing this happen with more frequency on general discussion. It's weird.

https://i.postimg.cc/4NVLm1gz/IMG-8518.jpg Did some backyard chopping and batoning with the SRK. No damage at all. Even tried to bend the tip but it wouldn’t. Will be my new camp knife. i love my convexed srkc. I use it just about every day. https://files.catbox.moe/9sugam.jpg literally 1/8th the p...

"Putting" "words" "in" "quotation" "marks"
Something I think is funny is how often words get put into quotation marks here, when they have no reason to be.
It's a weird trend I notice here that I don't notice anywhere else.

Re: Native Scout?
Following vivi's line of reasoning, Spyderco should not have developed the Endela, but instead suggested to people to grind down the Endura. I for one am glad that the Endela exists. I still have one solitary Endura from the 1990s. I never bought another as I found it too long. But now I have a bun...

Re: Community Sharpening Journal
been a long time since I did a convex edge by hand. It was fun. this thing carves wood so well now, well a head of my mora 511's 120 grit, a few passes on 500 grit to clean up the apex, then a microbevel on a fine spyderco ceramic bench stone. Did you use sandpaper or stones? 150 grit sandpaper cla...

Re: Native Scout?
Why shorten the handle too? You could do just the blade and make it look factory pretty easily in comparison.

Re: Native Scout?
Next to the Native 5, the Manix 2 is my favorite platform, though I wish it was less of a pocket hog. So yeah, I'd be in for a 3.5 inch Native. native5_manix2_nativechief_01.jpg Honestly when I look at that picture I wonder why people don't just buy a Native Chief and grind the blade down a bit if ...

Re: How do you close your Manix 2?
Bumping this thread again because I have the same problem with the manix clipping my palm when it swings shut. I try to be mindful of the location of the butt of the handle but sometimes it catches me. I had the same problem with Axis style locks also. I always wonder what the big mystery is every ...

Re: Your Favorite Slysz Design And Why
none of them do it for me. spydiechef is a cool concept but too small for a dedicated food prep knife or my general edc preference, and not wild about ti scales or frame locks. swayback...again, small, slick, and with a lock I don't care for. I also dislike how the top rear of the handle flares up. ...

Re: Street Bowie sheath dulls edge.
I know this is a topic that’s a few years old but I was curious if Spyderco has a replacement for the factory sheath. The issue stems from the fact that the original sheath is made using glass reinforced nylon, which is a great tool making plastic, however it is slightly abrasive. I bought my stree...

Re: Native Scout?
Pass for me. I'd love to see an XXL version around 4.5" though! There's so little options in the over 4" blade length category.

Re: New Manix 2 with Uneven Bevel
it's pretty common. generally the show side is ground at a more obtuse angle than the back side. not sure why, but it's kind of annoying since I'd want the opposite. Thin show side angle is key for good performance carving up wood. easy to sharpen out. if you're not confident fixing it, then you hav...

Re: Triangle rods vs new Profile Stones as travel sharpeners
I've carried different field sharpeners but at the end of the day I've never really come across situations where I needed them. Maybe if I hunted more. I can spend all day in my woods clearing trails with my Dogfather etc. and it'll keep going until I get home.

felt like comparing my old mora to my srkc during my overnighter. SRKC cuts better, which says a lot about how much I thinned out the edge
