Too mas!
I wish I had one of these the time I rode a bicycle from texas to the carolinas. Would have liked seeing my calorie expenditure the day I started in New Orleans and finished in Alabama, lol.

Re: Show your EDC

I've had a few Cold Steel folders in the past. Currently have a CTS XHP Hold Out 1 (6") and carry it occasionally. Loved the feel and ergos of the Large Voyagers (Tri-Ad). I've been thinking about getting another one or something similar, just less interested in folders lately and worried it w...

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???

they're very good knives. https://i.postimg.cc/RZsHzcxz/20240125-124428.jpg wish I developed an appreciation for the XL versions before they got discontinued. Hasn't been easy finding a backup for a reasonable price. Obviously not a 1:1 comparison with the recon having a longer handle etc., but this...

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???

refreshing seeing a Helle! I loved their knives back around the mid 2000's but have drifted away from traditional scandis over the years. Seeing yours is making me want to pick another one up.

Re: Does anyone have any pictures from the Spyderco booth at the 2024 Shot Show?

So not just a Sage 5 in Rex 121 but a whole family? :exploding-head https://i.imgur.com/LPXhgYo.jpg hope they do one of their 4" models. 15v too. not a para 3 / mini manix kind of guy. I kind of doubt you will see large models in this steel, since it is very difficult to grind and has low toug...

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???

https://files.catbox.moe/xbf9hk.jpeg I miss having a recon 1 It'd probably get my vote for best single blade folder that's not a Spyderco. The XL version is cool but can be a bit much at times :) midway usa had them for $55 earlier this week. crazy good deal. Felt like I got a bargain paying $75 fo...

Re: What watch you're wearing?

Most impressive Vivi, are you training for one of those epic marches? nope, just a regular day off for me. Dropped my kid off at school, played 18 holes of disc golf, spent 6 hours working on my trails, then took the kid out for a short run then 2 hours at sky zone. Probably a good thing it's reall...

Re: Benchmade Knife Company

I always wanted to like the 710 but for my grip the thumb ramp killed it. The point of the thumb ramp is right where my thumb naturally rests. I compared a G10/D2 710 against a Military and in some ways I actually preferred the BM, but ergonomics alone made the spydie win that one out. Benchmade is ...

Re: Why don't you Baton?

I camp via leave no trace ethic. I've never found a need to baton. I use fuel smaller than my thumb that is dead. I may need to shave down wet wood but I've never been out in the woods or backpacking and thought, wow, I need to baton wood. I did a ton a wilderness travel with a SAK, never felt I la...

Re: Why don't you Baton?

I have not been able to find the Spyderco web image advertising the Aeb-l mule. It definitively showed a picture of a person baton-ing an Aeb-l mule. If any other Mule Teamers are more web savvy than myself, I sure would like that pic to appear here. Anyway, I would like to forward that picture in ...

Re: Ok, could it be that LC200N fares better against Magnacut than some might think?

JoviAl, I haven't used magnacut yet, but I've used H1, H2 and LC200N. I'd put LC200N's edge holding around VG10 with a typical edge. Oddly enough with a very coarse finish (coarser than diamond sharpmaker rods, 200-400 grit) LC seems to hold an edge a little better for me than VG10 for some reason. ...

Re: Sneaky Sneaky Shot Show Reveals

im excited a out the new coatings. dlc has a great ability to resist corrosion better than satin blades but they also increase drag. plus lowered cost is nice to hear. with larger models dlc option can add $30-50.

really interesting stuff. excited to learn more!

Re: Crazy Good Deals Part 2!!

Chicago Knifeworks has the Swayback for only $177 and if you aren't already on their mailing list and sign up (like I did) it takes another 5% off. I just grabbed one and it came to $168 shipped (free shipping)! It's hard to find a used one for that cheap. https://www.chicagoknifeworks.com/spyderco...
