Thought this thread was going to be about something like SOG Zilla folder.
None of those knives remind me of Spyderco. The first one looks like an American Lawman iteration from Cold Steel.

Re: Metal used that doesn’t need diamond to sharpen
Even cheap diamond plate is better than india/crystolon/ceramic alumina stones. I bought some $7 diamond plates off eBay and they've displaced all my other sharpening stones. No reason not to go with diamond now IMO.

Re: About that food prep ...
When I worked in professional kitchens I would often end up cutting with my various Chef knives for 5-6 hours every shift. The rare times I cooked at home, using a pocket knife was an interesting challenge and a nice change of pace. I retired from kitchens so mainly I use a single pairing knife when...

I prefer FRN, 9/10 of the most recent Spydercos I’ve bought have been FRN.

Re: Any "real-world" tests of SE H-1?
It's interesting to compare the CATRA results compiled from outside sources, by Cliff Stamp, to the 48 steel test by Dr.Thomas. Most of the results for steels that appear in both tests are fairly close to each other. The PE H1 CARTA is only recorded in Cliff's chart and is very low, SE would need to...

Re: Bladeshow 2021
Can anyone please give some details on the Schempp Priceless? Like a bigger, nicer Khukri without the large choil/ricasso. Handle was rounded wood/brass(?), blade shape closer to the Chinese Folder than the Khukri - maybe 3.6"-3.75" length. Knife felt a little more "prototype" t...

Re: Bladeshow 2021
If you're on the fence about going this is a great year to check out the Spyderco booth. Some of the knives I was thrilled to see in the prototype case: Mini Yojimbo Dodo Wharncliffe Stretch 2 XL Military 2 Mini-Native Tanto Schempp Priceless Manix 2 XL Micarta Mini P'Kal There were a ton of other m...

Two hot items from the Blade Show floor
Wharncliffe Dodo Proto with ~2.5-2.75” blade same handle regular BBL no word if a production item or just a proto. Looks excellent open and closed, very awesome blade.

Re: A Case To Be Made For The Dodo Model
Time for me to shill for these two styles again :D I'll buy any new version of the Dodo. I think the design and implementation are one of the most daring and unique we've ever seen in the modern era of folding knives. I wouldn't be at all against other variants of the Dodo model. But in this thread...

Re: Can I carry my knife into Bladeshow ATL 2021
I've been to Blade several times, never noticed any restriction like this. Lots of open carry of knives, swords, giant fixed blades, etc etc. The employees don't seem to care other than verifying wristband and making sure you don't enter through the exit door or smoke by the entrances. I'll be there...

Re: CQI Shabaria ?
The Shabaria has always interested me however because as far as I know they never made one in full SE. And I can't for the life of me understand why Spyderco doesn't make at least one or two of their great "recurve" models in Spyderedge. Am I misremembering or is the issue that full SE is...

Re: Sharpening Sprints and Exclusives
Why would these get a special treatment... Spyderco is probably selling more "sprints" and "exclusives" than regular production knives. So you might say that "sprints" and "exclusives" are the regular production and the regular production is actually becoming...

Re: Help zdp189 or k390
ZDP does not do well to exposure to salts or acidics. I had significant edge fracture when exposed to strong vinegar, acidic fruit, common table salt, and water softener salt. It's not a problem if you can wash the blade right away but if you cut dry and the knife goes back in your pocket on a warme...

Re: Sharpening Sprints and Exclusives
I sharpen every knife I buy. I think that once most folks sharpen their knives they accept that they have hurt resale value and just keep it. That may be why we mostly see brand new sprints for sale on the second hand market. That's part of what I was thinking why I made the poll. I know I took an ...
