Re: That dreaded sound

I've laundered a few Spydercos over the years. The great thing about these knives is you usually have to worry more about the blade opening and slicing everything up then the knife getting damaged. Luckily the usually they function as designed and don't open up.

free servers

I'm out of date on picture hosting sites. Are there any decent free ones left? All my pictures from my last time around are held hostage by Imageshack, which charges now.

Re: Suggestion: Laguiole Knife

Imagine if they made a sprint. What would we like to see in it? I'm thinking burgundy micarta but that is because I have no imagination nor experience with the newer handle materials. Bone white micarta and brass fixins would look good too, and make pairing with the black original.

Gonna have to say the original Ronin....after that It's definitely the Sharpmaker 204....Doc:) Like Beetlejuice, if you say Ronin enough times a heretic appears. Yeah the Ronin had a fine Micarta handle. Hey JDSpydo, cool to see you are still leading the charge for old blades. ZENHERETIC!!! ...

Re: Ed Schempp

I love his Persian design. But that was probably his first for Spyderco and is long gone.

Very talented dude though.

Solid dude too.

Some of the later stuff is a bit out there for me too. Looks like a case for function over looks, but haven't held them so I have no a clue.

Re: Sal's Casual Bombshell Thread

Nice re-entry, over a decade later. :) Thanks for starting one of my most closely followed threads here! I have this feed from a online knife dealer called Knifenews. A few months ago it made mention of this thread. Thought I'd come take a look. The internet is so vast that it took this long to get...

It is a tiny knife. No need for tactical peel ply. Smooth please.

The best way to work on this is to talk with you, our customers and learn these preferences and try to incorporate them into desired designs. That's why we create so many different designs. sal Not the topic of the discussion, but the above is 100% true. Anyone who reads the Spyderco threads for lo...

If you like Tigerbalm, you should go to Singapore and see the "Tigerbalm themepark". That isn't what they call it of course, but it was built by the inventors of Tigerbalm. It is like a Disneyland, except it contains Chinese themed beliefs and myths.

Like the Deacon said, there was more variability back in the white box days. I have some little knives in big boxes and the same model also in a little box. I know the box goes with the knife because each has the "official" labeling to match the knife. Anyhoo, back in the day, a lot of fol...
