Re: Drunken Lynch Clip!

I actually sold off my Drunken and A. Purvis clip for the same reason. It looked phenomenal, but it liked to shift too much. I've never been stoked with single screw clip designs. Casey puts a LOT of thought into his clips. If I would have known he was coming out with one, I probably would have kept...

I hope it will be a leaf blade. It is more elegant looking and more practical for my uses than the skinner blade.

Re: The DAMAUKPK Project: Damasteel UK Penknife UKPK

Hunting down the HH 4 pin UKPK is a real adventure. I got my first one from a forumitee in the EM forum. If the UKPK Damasteel comes to reality I might end up buying two. The same way with the Damasteel Urban. Unfortunately I'll have to hunt them down from the US again because in mainland Europe an...

Oof.

I’ve been waiting for over two years for the Waterway to go back into production.

That’s a bit of a let down. :(

Re: Native 5 Scale Swap

Turned out great!

I know the molded backspacer makes it hard to hit the required tolerances, but man…. I really hope someone comes out with some nice aftermarket scales for the Native 5 LW/Salt at some point.

I'm carry a Para 3 today... Well, at least it used to be a Para 3, not really sure what to call it now. Perfection I suppose.

Re: Native 5 salt is Magnacut?

That's super interesting! I always kind of figured that the same spring material was used for each offering (other than the Salt series).

Re: Native 5 salt is Magnacut?

Thanks for the insider look Sal! It’s crazy hearing how much bringing a high quality knife to the market entails.

If cost wasn’t in the equation, would using the same material for the lock and blade be ideal, or are there hidden issues with that?

Re: SAGE Series

This is easily my favorite Sage, and I don't see anything unseating it in the near future. M4 steel and sidecut, seafoam Micarta scales. :D I was a little shocked, and absolutely surprised when I took this thing apart. It's a tank! So well built! I was very happy to see that Spyderco decided to use...

Re: Spyderco 2022 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming

Yea, it was kind of weird today. I’m pretty sure the site was getting hammered, lol. It showed as “Coming Soon!” until about 8:02. Then it switched to out of stock. Then it popped up as in stock at around 8:04. The site was hanging the whole time. You just gotta be patient with it. Looks like there ...

Re: Magnacut in Seki Salts

The diversity of steels offered by Spyderco and the fact that they're not going to offer it until they are certain that they've gotten the most out of a commercial heat treat they can possibly do is just one of the many reasons I have confidence in Spyderco products. The fact that Sal, Larrin, and ...

Re: Magnacut in Seki Salts

I’m really finding 63 - 64 to be MagnaCuts sweet spot. I’ve had it heat treated as high as 66hrc and as low as ~61hrc, following protocols laid out by Devin and Larrin. The ease of sharpening at all hardness levels was a really nice surprise. :) Well you can reach 63-64 with different protocols, so...
