These sure are clean for "EDC". Do people just carry these knives and never use them? I've carried this Yo (and used it) several times every week for nearly 10 years. Good quality knives really don't show wear from use, just marks from abuse... http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3798/128743280...

It is considered diamond "like" carbon in that it is hard not clear. I'm not sure what colours it can be made into but it is certainly not clear like a diamond. I have the coating on stainless steel rifle barrels as well as a Spyderco and they are have a similar colour. I'm actually thinki...

I would suggest waiting, saving up the cash, and then getting the Chaparral in that case. Sears has it for less than $100 here.

Thx. I was thinking to manix 2; however, I worried about the ball bearing spring. will it rust when the time go on? Since I live in seattle, there are lots of rains down here. No it won't, I had mine in New Zealand (always by the coast) and had no issues. It is a great knife buy with confidence. Ca...

You can find the Manix2 with for less than $80 in a lot of places, it would be my first choice for an EDC Spyderco. I think Walmart sells them for $75, which is a steal for one of the best knives out there.

Link to Manix2 on Walmart.com for $77

On Amazon for the same price here.

Manix2 FFG & Skeletonized Liners

I have a Manix2 in 154CM and got a Manix2 XL in S30V, and I really liked the FFG on the XL. If I wanted to get a Manix2 with a full flat grind and skeletonized liners am I right in assuming I would need something like the SPYDERCO MANIX2 SPRINT ~ C101GBD30P2 CTS BD30P BLADE STEEL? I guess I want a M...

I broke the tip off a Manix2 while stabbing a couple guys in an alley... or I dropped it on the tile in my bathroom, I can't remember which...

Either way Spyderco manage to work magic on it, as it saw magically transformed into a knife with a great tip again.

Glad I stopped in this thread, I had been thinking about getting a Manix2 that was closer to the Manix2 XL with the FFG and the skeletonized liners, and it looks like that Spyderco Plain Edge Full Flat Grind CTS-BD30P Black G-10 Manix 2 at Bento Box is the closest I have found. How does the CTS-BD30...
