Re: Endela-i want one

I'll definitely be getting an Endela. It's the perfect size for me for a carry knife. The Endura has always been a bit too big for me and more so since they upped the size a small amount with the E4. Has anyone else noticed the weight on the Endela? According to Wouter's Amsterdam coverage it will t...

Re: Casual Sage 5 Lightweight reveal

As excited as I am for the Para 3 lightweight, I'm even more so for a Sage 5 lightweight. I hope this thing makes it to production! For Eric to have it in pocket, it means they have to have spent the money on the molds for the FRN handles. That pretty much guarantees that we'll see it at some point.

Re: More on new Spyderco Light Weights: Let's discuss!

Now I can see from Spydercos point of view (insofar as I can delude myself into thinking that I do). What I see is that each G10 knife involves what looks like a fair bit of CNC machining -- whereas when you absorb the cost of having a mold for FRN made, then you can just squirt stuff into the mold...

Re: Did then Endura always have this?

I was not a fan of the hump shaped of the Endura (and Delica) 4 tip. When they first came out, I did not like it and wished for a return to the "splinter picker" tips of the previous models. However, I changed my tune on the humped tip when the FFG models came out. I still don't like the h...

Re: Casual Sage 5 Lightweight reveal

Man, I'm loving all the FRN models we're seeing/anticipating lately. Me too. So am I. Spyderco has gone through a knife renaissance. Also, did you look at the screen shot of the knife that shows the blade thickness. Isn't that a nice and beefy blade for cutting chores? Most definitely. I pre-ordere...

Pacific Salt SE would be my choice in that environment. Salt 2 SE if you're worried the size of the Pacific would raise eyebrows.

Re: Para 3 lightweight anticipation

I'm excited for this one too but no plans to trade in my G10 versions at this point. I, on the other hand, will probably put my G-10 version up for sale the day the LW arrives. The G-10 model just won't see any carry once the LW gets here. The Paramilitary 2 is a different story. If they release a ...

Re: Favorite Saturday folder?

Manix 2 LW. Great shape, strong, lightweight. Everything I want in a no-nonsense yardwork folder. Also, the BD1 steel on it handles everything well but also comes back to razor sharp quickly after the work is done. Hoping to have my pre-ordered Para3 Lightweight by the time spring starts so that I c...

Spyderco isn't a framelock company unfortunately.
Is it though? Unfortunate that is.

There are a ton of good online dealers. I've personally had good experiences with: Knifeworks.com Knifecenter.com BladeHQ.com NationalKnives.com DLTTrading.com CutleryShoppe.com NewGraham.com The list goes on...those are just the ones that came off the top of my head. I'm sure others will chime in ...

Re: The Endela - what are your hopes for it?

I hope the Endela's handle is shaped more like Delica's than the Endura's. I know they are very similar, but there are a few differences, and I would like to see the Endela favor the Delica more than the Endura.

My Spyderco EDC is a Caly 3.5, great size good blade length.
As a wiser forum member than me once put it, it's almost an Endura in blade length but almost a Delica in handle length. Can't ask for better than that.

Re: Spyderco new FRN Lightweights: What do you think will be the best?

All, I'm in for all of them. All the FRNs please. Back when I first discovered Spyderco in the mid-1990s, FRN knives like the Delica, Endura, Progrip, Snap-It, Remote Release, Merlin, Rescue, Rescue Jr, etc where there bread and butter. I miss those days, and knowing that trend is coming back around...

Re: Will the Paramilitary FRN replace the Delica?

This may have been covered already Does this come with any liners? The word on the street is that the liners are minimal. Whatever is the minimum necessary to allow for a compression lock. The consensus is that the non-locking side is linerless; however, I think that it is possible there will be a ...

Re: Will the Paramilitary FRN replace the Delica?

Does the Para 3 LW have liners and washers? My thoughts (based not on fact) would be that they'd have the minimum possible to secure the pivot pin to the compression pin on both sides (kind of like the small "figure-8" shaped metal piece on either side of the Manix 2 LW and to allow for t...
