I tried and tried, but kept getting timeouts. Pretty disappointed, I had 10 new knives in my cart. Couldn't get to checkout for some reason.
Edit: Finally got through with my 11 knives. That was almost as bad as the Magnacut mule release.

Re: Knife Center Native 5 Salt in magnacut
Is this thing ever going to be available? I saw it a month or two ago, and it's still not released yet. I pre-ordered on January 18th from KC. I still get occasional emails saying they haven't forgotten me... I think these retailers are jumping the gun on these things to lock in the sale as soon as...

Re: MT33P - CPM REX 76 Mule Team Release!
Been looking forward to this one, it's kind of on the edge across multiple parameters, very interesting to see how it performs against Z-max and Maxamet. Very high hardness, but less wear resistance, so maybe more sharpening-friendly when it does wear. Looks like maybe a tad tougher - but not sure t...

Re: A guard tab
I removed the tab as well, at least for one of mine. Here's a not-quite-finished pic. I used a carbide end mill. Wait...I missed this earlier...a carbide endmill can cut hardened steel? :exploding-head Yes, no problem. I kept it lubed and did small passes, backing off on speed if I felt or heard an...

Re: The Golden Rule of Sanding
Does anyone have issues with finer, 1500+, sandpaper getting quickly filled with fine saw dust? I feel like mine does after 30 seconds of sanding and becomes useless. I do a LOT of sanding at higher grits. I have a vacuum line set-up by my sanding station and if the abrasive gets filled quickly, I ...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Had some executive meetings today - the Advocate is my go-to for "gentleman's" knife. Also, one of my all-time favorites. The CQI really made this knife one of the best Spyderco offerings (I bought two).

Re: Stabilize or Epoxy first Wood Scales
I second xplorer's comments. In addition, I would be very weary of how you process that material so that you are happy with the resulting layout post-stabilization. I have always used clear epoxy, but after seeing X's pic above, I am reconsidering. In fact, I recently got a bunch of strontium alumin...

Re: 204P MULE ?
Given that it sounds unusable due to the HT or other production issues, I'd be interested in it for use as a blank to make scales. Let me know if interested in this option.

Re: Adventures in Mule scaling
When you do your multi wood scales do you cut, clamp and glue them with something like Titebond III? Also do you stabilize the wood, then cut it up and then glue? Will the glue hold on a stabilized piece of wood as the wood glue could not penetrate the wood? Thanks. Hi WM, I rough cut, rough sand, ...

Spyderco Knives in Cinema
Has anyone consolidated sightings of Spyderco's in movies/TV? I am part of another forum that does something similar, and has a running sticky that lists all sightings of their firearms on screen. Kind of neat idea. Anyway, I was watching Lost and noticed Locke had a couple Spydies and thought of th...

Edit: new collet now not arriving until tomorrow.
Will post pics (good or bad) in the adventures in mule scaling thread.

Yeah it was weird having one rep send me a pivot screw and another say they can't. Might just give that Police away and wash my hands of it, it's been sitting in pieces for a year waiting for a screw and I'm tired of looking at it. Yeah, this just happened to a friend of mine. 2 different answers o...

Easy peasy for me. Now I need to secure some carbide so I can mill the tang down for a ko-deba. This will be interesting.

Re: Knife Knuts, Steel Junkies, and Mule... POLL! Please VOTE!
I really like Muleists. It's simple, easy to say and captures the spirit. "-ist; a suffix of nouns, that denote a person who practices or is concerned with something, or holds certain principles, doctrines, etc ." I think this encompasses a lot of the sentiment here - some are steel junkie...
