The 3 bottom ones all have forward finger choils, whereas all the non-spydies are full blades that go straight to the handle. Even the Endura has that tang on the bottom.
Chart is rigged, unless the argument is for more Tenacious style blades.

Re: New Models Dropped: Alcyone, DF2 Zome, Salt 2 Black (PICS)
Going by knifecenter, Tenacious, PM2 + 3 have full blackout, then Salt 2/Military have satin screws on the blackout models.
What factors into this decision? What's the design idea?
Just curious. :)

Knifecenter's preview photo shows a fully blacked out knife, then their quickflick video shows non-black screws.
Anyone know which it is?

Re: Civilian 2 "Salt" Poll Continued..
These polls are always so close. :) A bit off-topic here regarding the Civilian's family members. Why do we have separate names(Matriarch) for what's essentially an Endura with a different blade shape? It'd be like calling the wharnie Delica a completely different name. Why not change the Cricket/'L...

We should just come out and admit it. We want every knife in the catalog to have a Salt version. :)

Re: Civilian 2 Poll part 3
Some smaller things I'd personally like to see would be a larger thumb hole, and since compression lock is winning the lock poll, if possible, an open pillar design like the PM2 for easy cleaning.

Re: Civilian 2 Lock Type poll
Wave vs. Non-wave, spyderedge vs. plain edge vs. combo edge, satin vs. DLC vs. TiCN coated hardware, types of clips, etc. could all be bunched into the next poll!

Re: Civilian 2 Poll
Maybe we could split the two main ideas. Matriarch 2 Salt: Linerless FRN, H1 steel. Better designed for EDC, but also gives us a tactical salt folder. Civilian 2: Moved to Golden, Colorado. Compression lock & G10 handles. CTS-BD1 steel, since it's only meant to be used in self defense situations...

Re: Civilian 2 Poll
A linerless FRN handle Civilian would be crazy lightweight for it's size. :)
Maybe LC200N to get the FFG blade while being salty.

Re: FRN version of the Civilian?
First I would do an evolution of the design, work out bugs and gauge demand. I guess we can discuss what the "upgrades" or "improvements" would be? I would make the tip stronger, Probably go full flat, I've thought about other locks, but I really like some of the features of a l...

Re: comparisons
The slipjoint is tougher to open because it's designed to snap shut around halfway closed, and snap into place when fully opened. It's trying to close itself when you're initially opening it, and trying to keep itself open when you start closing it, so it won't feel as smooth. Liner locks don't act ...

FRN version of the Civilian?
Delica - $69. Endura - 0.9" more cutting edge. $72. :D Matriarch 2 - $84. Civilian - 0.5" more cutting edge - $180. :( There's already threads that call out the price of G10 knives made in Japan, so I don't need to go there. The point of this thread is proposing an FRN version of the Civil...

Tip-down all the way.
It's amazing how many companies only have knives with tip-up configuration. That's a big part of why I'm a Spyderco fan. Lots of 4 way carry options.
