First issue I see is using boiling water. I know you are trying to melt the loctite a bit but you are actually expanding both the screw and what it is screwed into. I have the Para3 LW SPY-27 and I'm very happy with it.

I like the steel a lot so far. It sharpens up like VG-10 but holds an edge closer to S30V. -Chad
