Re: Kitchen Knife Shape Opinions

Did you go with the Miyabi? I feel we may not have given you the feedback you were looking for...he will appreciate whatever knife you choose/chose, no doubt!

Re: How much longer is the addition going to take?

In my experience, construction doesn't work that way. We don't know what their finish-out, much less production schedule is...at the rate they are going, I would say at least 24 months, but that doesn't include machine or gear lead-times plus any unforseen delays, much less hiring and training new c...

Re: Kitchen Knife Shape Opinions

I have a couple of Miyabi's and they are nice but perform on par with Shun and are not truly Asian knives. My go-to source for Asian kitchen knives is ChefKnivesToGo.com. They have a large selection of Santoku's both Wa handled and Western handled ranging from ~$70-$350. I am very sure that you will...

Re: Spyderco should make more calys.

...I feel like the OP just missed the Caly love fest here on the forum by like a year or two. Feels like just a couple years ago, there was a decent stretch of time where the Caly series in general was getting constant praise and attention. There was a noticeable focus on that series, at least. +1

Re: I had enough of Seki ''hiccups''

I wish you nothing but the best, honestly, but I feel you were very inconsiderate towards people who do not have the ability to just hop on down to their local shop and inspect all knives before buying, therefore "ignorant". I value you as a forum member, but feel that you approach many th...

Re: I had enough of Seki ''hiccups''

The OP doesn't have that luxury, nor do 98% of the other forumites, you speak from a place of singularity. We do not all live your existence. I am happy for you, but do not place your experience on others.

Re: I had enough of Seki ''hiccups''

Here is a tip. Buy at a local knife shop so you can inspect the knife before you buy. Just to add...this is an ignorant comment. Even living in DFW which has 8 million people in the heart of North Texas, there are only 2 stores that keep a large stock of Spyderco knives. To pile on even further, I ...

The 10V appears much more yellow hued, though I own neither.

Re: Spyderco should make more calys.

The Caly 3 and UKPK are two models that I instantly connected with after unboxing. Their ergonomics are exceptional, and I feel like every time the Caly line is brought up, it is praised pretty unanimously. While they may not sell as many units as other models, those who own them seem to love them....

Re: Am I finally done with knives?

I'm not done with knives; I'm just done with acquiring them. For a few years, I bought every knife that I found intriguing. I ended up with a large collection of great blades, but most of them just sit in the dark. Over the past year, I've started selling more knives than I buy, and I still have man...

Since these have started to pop up again, I've realized that mine hasn't seen much pocket time. I've really enjoyed carrying it for the last week or so.

Re: Edgerati Prototype

S90V seems like it'd have been the obvious choice, though intriguing nonetheless. I feel that a "racing" version that's obviously going to come in at a premium price point could afford premium steel. It seems so many models either just make it to the 85% mark, or are so over the top that t...
