Re: Bad Customer Service
I have Spyderco knives that have served me for years that I continue to use and others that had issues from the beginning. My Yojimbo had a detent so weak that I was afraid to carry it and my Dodo wouldn't lock at all. In both cases, Spyderco chose to return them to me unrepaired and without explana...

Re: price increase
It seems to me that there is a trend toward higher end knives with an aggregate increase in price. People want better steels, better fit and finish, fewer people are satisfied with linerless FRN. On the other hand, there are knives that offer more performance than their price would suggest, take Mor...

Re: Bad Customer Service
I have been routinely disappointed by Spyderco warrantee service. I sent two knives at different times for repairs with a letter clearly stating my concern. Both times the knife was returned sharpened, but unrepaired and without any explanation from Spyderco. By contrast, Spyderco's six-legged compe...

Re: Reinhold Rhino Update
Some people are happy to pay for certain materials, I am less motivated in that regard. Carbon fibre, yak horn, moon rocks, it's all the same to me. As was previously stated, this knife is not a necessity, especially for me as I already have more knives than I can use. I'll save the money and someon...

Re: Spyderco Bradley folder 2
I've been slow to warm up to my GB2. The blade developed a few rust freckles and I put it the drawer after a good tidying. Then I looked at the old knife that my grandfather used to clean fish and the blade is the color of an old revolver barrel. I don't think that Pa was all that picky about caring...

That's why I select dealers based on their return policy, especially if I had the bad luck that you've had. I would box it up and send it back.

Re: Customer Disservice?
Nothing was specifically said in the OP's e-mail about whether or not he would be willing to pay for the sheath. Furthermore, he was not directed to the manufacturer of the original sheath for a direct replacement, but rather, "...a few sheath makers, but they are all here in the US." I al...

Re: Customer Disservice?
Losing the sheath and saving the knife is the better outcome.

Re: Impulse Buy-Do you do it?
Were it not for some type of impulse, I would probably only have two pocketknives. Before I buy a knife I ask myself, does it do something that a Delica can't? Then I ignore the answer and buy it anyway.

Re: Please talk me OUT of getting a Dragonfly
I wanted to like the Dragonfly, but it just didn't fit my hand, but that's not to say that it won't work for you. The only way to know is to give it a test drive.

Re: Mantra bearing race issue SOLVED
That seems like a lot of effort to make a new knife operate correctly. My PM 2 works flawlessly as it did the first day. I'll take reliable simplicity over high tech and high cost.

High visibility handles
I've been considering getting a work knife with a high visibility handle, but I don't find much selection. This leads me to believe that it's a feature that doesn't sell well. The orange Manix 2 LW would fit the bill nicely, I hope that idea didn't get shelved.

Re: Chubby has landed
I've been thinking that I need a Sunday-go-to-meeting knife, but that was my excuse for getting a Rhino. I can't spread my rationalization too thin, you know, so I will stay my course and wait for the Rhino to fill that role. My wallet will thank me later.

Re: If I were upgrading the Delica
For my use, I would like a bit more of a hand-filling handle on the Delica. My aging fingers don't always close tightly. Also I would like a thinner sabre grind.

Re: How many use a rock to sharpen knives in the field?
Sharpening your knife with an improvised hone make good viewing, but anagarika's suggestion of a DMT credit card hone makes more sense to me. I did use some smooth concrete once in a pinch. The results were suitable for the situation, but afterwards I went home and sharpened my knife properly.

Re: Millie or Para with Wave Opener: Yes Or No?
I sold my waved Delica because I found it difficult to draw from my pocket without engaging the wave. My PM2 opens easily enough with the hole so that I don't feel the need for improvement.

Re: Where are the 3 inch blades?
I, as well, prefer a 3 inch blade, but I also prefer a wider handle than the Delica for my aging hands. I've been waiting for the Lil Temp 2 for so long that I expect it to arrive on the backs of unicorns.

Advantage? Logic? Not for me. Desire is the reason that I would buy another knife. A Dragonfly hawkbill with a plain edge option, please.

Re: Now's The Time: For A New Hawkbill II
Since I recently lost my Merlin in PE, I've been looking about for a replacement. I would prefer a Delica 4 with a hawkbill blade to the Tasman, but the experimental wharnclif Delica also has my interest.
