Re: Delica-4 FFG to Native-5 LW ?
I was unable to grip the Native behind the choil like I do my Manix and that didn't settle well with me, so I gave it to a friend. However, many other people love the ergonomics of the Native. One size doesn't fit all. Take one for a test drive and see for yourself.

Re: Delica saber thick but FFG
A little bit thicker FFG Delica would be perfect in my opinion. Something between the two grinds currently available.

Re: Diamond Sharpmaker Rods
I don't mean to derail the topic, but how do the CBN rods compare to the diamond rods in terms of coarseness?

Re: Un-sharpened blade heel, what do you think?
I won't buy a knife that comes with a sharpening notch. A millimeter of unsharpened edge doesn't bother me, but hanging the blade on a piece of fabric is just absurd.

Re: My first Manix 2!!
I had mine for, I believe, six years--I lose track. I never pound on it or pry with it, but I've cut a lot of stuff with it as an everyday work knife and it functions like new. That doesn't sound like much, but I've used it rigorously, just not abusively.

Re: That feeling when...
My uncle showed me his accumulation of pocket knives a few years ago. There were maybe four work knives, a Buck 110 he used for hunting and a worn out automatic that he carried while serving in the Pacific Theater, and he was a guy who never left the house without a knife. Now I'm a little embarrass...

Re: Flickability Factor
For many people, it's the sound effect that gives blade flicking the cool factor. In film guns and knives always have to click when deployed.

Buy an Endura trainer and stab things with it, then your question will be answered without any doubt.

It's an interesting knife, but I would take a ladybug or clipitool for less money that would be more useful to me.

Re: Numbered spyderco price gaugers
Thank you for the insight from the collectors. I don't have the desire to collect knives but, I'm glad that there are people who keep the business thriving. And anyway, I still buy knives that I don't really need, how different is that from having a collection of, as they say, pocket jewelry? As for...

Re: Endura 4 quality?
The endura and delica are very high value products. Both have been refined over a long period of time and still cost the same as they did years ago. In my mind, paying more for a knife might get you something nicer, but not a better tool.

I have contacted management of several different companies to comment on good service that one of their employees had provided me. A friend who made a career in retail management told me that positive comments from customers were rare and taken very seriously.

I'd also like it kept simple to keep the price down. VG-10 steel, FRN, maybe, just maybe micarta or G10 scales. The prototype flippers I saw at BLADE are something I hope comes about - just hopefully not in super steels & fancy materials that come with a high price. The Kiwi 4 is nice too. I de...

Re: How strong is FRN?
A friend has a deilca 1 with the blade sharpened to a nub and the handle and lock-up are fine. I wonder if the small amount of flex in the handle contributes to the long lasting nature of the pivot and lock. FRN could be destroyed by extreme use, but I don't worry about wearing it out. Good stuff, m...

Re: Spyderco Tenacious
There isn't much to not like about the tenacious. The quality is so exceptional for the price that it makes me wonder why I spend so much more on other knives. That being said, it just doesn't call to me. I use it at home but, it seldom gets carried in favor of other Spydercos that feel better in my...

Re: Advice: U Fix It Spyderco Knives?
That could be just up my alley. A collector piece that had lost its collector value would make a nice user, if the price was right. I like some older Spydercos, but I wouldn't carry and use a rare piece and diminish its value.
