Re: FRN and FRCP, what do we know?

I will say that I've had no success dyeing FRCP whereas I've dyed many a FRN Spydie.

Re: Blade Show 2016 Videos, Photo's, Reports and Gossip

While there were many knives in the proto case worth salivating over—many of them already discussed in this thread—I was kinda partial to the design of the Efficient that was up for the Best Buy of the year award. Very light and great ergos at a great price. I'm going to assume these pics are legal ...

Once again, fantastic job Mr Blonde. I can't wait to handle some of these---and hopefully some of those not photographed---at Blade Show this summer.

Re: Amsterdam Meet 2016 Report of Spyderco Prototypes

Hi, once again thanks for the pics and info! Could you please4 tell me the difference between the Sage 1 CF and the sage 5 Peel Ply CF? Is peel ply more like G10? Thanks for any info. It's been my experience that's Spyderco's peel ply texture is more aggressive than typical Spyderco G10. I can't sp...

Yes, the Sage 1 and Sage 3 are laminates as well. Three different types, three different textures.

Rit dyed this G10 Dragonfly in 2009. I think it's held up well and developed a bit of character.

Re: Jaylo's Amsterdam Meet 2016 Report- Notes and random musings

Anyone have more details on this possible model? The knife as seen at Blade Show was similar to a Tenacious, but with a finger choil—a very Manix-inspired handle. It came in two sizes. It's most distinguishing feature was a new lock. The lock resembled a SOG Arc Lock, but obviously wasn't. At the t...

Sal, is this Bodacious the "Super Rescue" you originally intended, or the manix/tenacious hybrid offshoot seen at Blade Show?

Re: Jaylo's Amsterdam Meet 2016 Report- Notes and random musings

Outsanding work! Really appreciate your report. A couple questions:

1. D'allara - You mentioned it's thinner and shallower with flat g10. Same overall length, blade shape and handle profile as before?

2. Lil Native - Which pocket clip—hourglass or wire?

Evil D is dead on here. Blue loctite is the key to making sure perfectly adjusted, slightly loosened pivot screws don't back out from use.

I wasn't sure if this should go in this thread, "Favorite Pair of Spydercos," or "Show Us Your User Sprints." It qualifies as all three :D

Re: Manix CBBL or Mid Back Lock?

I think more users would prefer the CBBL if its operation felt more like an Axis lock. For years, I've changed the springs in mine to lower tension, high quality McMaster Carr springs. I'm not encouraging others to void their warranties, but I've never had a lock failure and my locks are easily oper...

Re: SHOT Show 2016 Videos

I always kind of viewed the sage series as the baby brother to the para, just for aesthetics and size. Won't the sage with compression look similar to the PM3? Aesthetically, I don't think they look similar. However, having handled both prototypes at Blade Show, there are close in size. It makes me...

Re: Blade show 2015 news thread

I could only attend Friday. I hope someone comes along with detailed notes as I only really had interest in and handled three prototypes: Sage Compression Lock with G10 scales, Para Military 3 (this is exactly how it was labelled), and the Manix 2 Lightweight with LEDs in the handle. I would have bo...
