Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

...That said, I have glimpsed the original Triple B design that's still in the works, and I MUST have that one when it comes out regardless of the steel!... Glimpsed where, pray tell? At a big knife show, right there in the Spyderco booth! I’m prohibited from sharing further details on pain of exco...

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

While I love Triple B and think this collaboration is fantastic, I am sitting this one out. The only reason is because I fully recognize that my sharpening skills are not up to the task of maintaining 15V. I am happy with my 52100 Manix and SPY27 Manix LW, and those steels are much more manageable f...

Re: Let’s face it Liner Locks and Back Locks suck!

While I’ll admit that my Siren bit me once, I will not countenance your conclusion, sir! The back lock is my favorite lock by far. The strength, symmetry, reliability, and ease of use are unparalleled. Liner locks are harder to do well, but when properly executed they are great as well.

If you could add any three Spyderco knives from 1981 to 2022, what would they be?

The threads about what Spyderco you'd replace and rebuilding your collection from scratch have got me thinking that this might be a fun one. If you could add any three Spydercos to your collection what would they be? The rules: 1. They can be any Spydercos that have ever been made from 1981 to prese...

Re: What is the first Spyderco you'd replace?

Losing all my Spydercos is a horrible thought! Some of them would be all but impossible to replace. But I would start the great re-build with an Endura 4. The Endura is my default workhorse Spydie.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

I'm carrying my trusty CruWear/Micarta PM2. Earlier today I used it to break down two enormous and ultra-thick cardboard boxes that contained two small couches. By the end of the cutting the blade was very hot to the touch and the edge was so dull I could probably run it along my tongue without fear...

Re: The Lil' Temperance 3 Lightweight: A comprehensive review

I had pretty much no interest in this model until I handled one in person a few days ago. (It was at the Knife Joker's shop in Bishop, California—a great shop and great owner.) I was instantly smitten with it. It almost immediately become one of my top five favorite Spydercos. There's just something...

Just got mine!

I never thought I'd be interested in this kind of knife. It was just a year or two ago that I was telling myself I only liked small knives. Well that has obviously changed!

Let's see your very first Spyderco (or at least the one you've had the longest)

Here's mine: https://i.imgur.com/clU52L9.jpg This is a C21 Merlin that I found abandoned on the beach when I was around 9 or 10 years old in the mid to late nineties. One of the most exciting finds of my life! I had no idea what Spyderco was at the time, and it took me about a decade longer to becom...

https://i.imgur.com/NCa75sq.jpeg In my imagination zombies have pretty soft flesh, so this whale rescue turned slasher would do a fine job! Tip reprofiled (to make it pointy and sharp) by AgarthaAudio (aka bladechops), and coarse peel ply orange G10 scales by Knockwood Blades. Considering optimal r...

Nice knife but I'm not spending that type of money on something that's not lefty friendly.
Now I want an ambidextrous lightweight backlock Lum Tanto!

Re: Slipit ‘lock’ disappeared

Just a warning: Spyderco's slipjoints (well at least the UKPK) can be very difficult to put back together again if you separate the spring from the scale it's affixed to. I found this out when dying my UKPK scales a couple months back. I'm still not sure how I got the thing reassembled, to be honest...
