Re: Dragonfly Wharncliffe

Ya know, when I saw the reveal of the Para 3 LW, I thought that would be the end all for me. I couldn’t think of anything else that I’d need, ever.

Until I saw this beautiful bastard. It just screams that little workhorse that’ll get any job done and literally the only EDC you need. I can’t wait!

Re: Bent tip on my Para 3 LW

It happens once in a while, that looks like it would sharpen out easily. I plan on using it a lot tomorrow while cleaning out my garage. I'll give it a touch up on my 302M + diamond strop and and see how it looks after. I'm pretty sure from looking at it, if not this sharpening, a couple more it'll...

Re: Bent tip on my Para 3 LW

Thanks for the replies guys! I’m not really worried about it right now since I still have pretty sharp tip. Sounds like I can just sharpen it out on my stones when the time comes so I’ll probably just go ahead and do that. Maybe I’ll try and do the method with the SM rod if just sharpening doesn’t t...

Bent tip on my Para 3 LW

Hey guys, Long story short, I accidentally dropped my Para 3 LW on laminate wood flooring. I wasn't paying attention, and it got caught on the flap of my cargo pocket on my uniform and fell to the ground. The impact flung it up and actually opened the blade, then back down on the tip I'm guessing si...

Linerless G10 Native 5 over FRN N5?

Hello guys, I love the Native platform. Imho, it might be the best one Spyderco makes, for me at least. I only have the basic S30V in FRN right now. I love how light it is, and frankly, I feel it's pretty robust for being "plastic". It with an MXG Gear deep carry clip, is probably my favor...

History of the Native

Hello all, I was just wondering, does anyone know the history of the Native? I just recently got a 5 LW and absolutely love it. I feel it’s the perfect EDC for me. I just wanted to know the history of it. Did Sal design it? What changes happened through the 5 itinerations? I think I remember reading...

Re: Lil Native dilemma

Thanks for the replies guys! Radioactive, it would be great to hear why it was left that way. Like I said before, I cannot imagine Eric, or anyone one else in the gang would allow this knife to go into production if they thought it was would be a safety issue of being cut (speaking of the edge close...

Re: Lil Native dilemma

I haven't cut myself with it and I have carried it every day since it was released. The choil/ricasso hitting my finger was remedied when I adjusted the screws so it would slow down when closing right before it hits my finger. I keep trying to find a spydie I like better for edc and so far I can't....

Lil Native dilemma

I’m a big fan of the Native series. It’s arguably my favorite in the lineup, and the Lil Native is no exception. I find it a charming knife that is built like a tank. I love the little guy, but a particular design element bothers me about it. I’m running a blank on what the part of the blade is (ric...

Re: Edge, convex and UF stone

Nice edge! Those Shapton Glass stones have great feel. I've been a fan of my Bester 1200 and Suehiro 5k finished with a strop & compound. I'm tempted to try the UF stone. I too am a fan of the convex ;) No edge pro here, but I do use a method on waterstones that makes a pretty convex edge rather...

Re: Lubricaton on a Native FRN?

If it doesn't have washers, I highly recommend Ballistol. I much prefer it to Nano-Oil or other lubricants I've used. Sucks that it's corrosive to phosphor bronze washers.

Safe to use Ballistol on the Dice and ball bearing washers?

Hey guys, I'm a big fan of Ballistol. I know it isn't safe to use on bronze washers, but how about the ball bearing washers on the Dice?

Re: Techno

Sorry to bump this from the past, but I just revisited my Techno a few minutes ago and fell in love with it all over again. My first Techno, I gifted so I bought another and carried that for months. I don't know what the heck I was thinking to cause me not to carry it. From the moment I held it, it ...

Re: Official Thread Regarding Upcoming Endura/Delica/Stretch

I might be the odd man out. I'd say I'm more excited seeing the color choice of the FRN HAP40 version than anything else :p. We all know the steel should be great ;). I find it seriously hard not to go back and carry my ZDP Delica. I try to carry other knives but for some reason, I always go back :c...

Re: Your most sentimental Spyderco?

I'd like to add another one. Probably no. 1 actually. The Delica really set the bar for me.I bought a brown FFG one when I started getting into knives and it made me appreciate Spydercos. It made me a fan and somewhat obsessed with them. Unfortunately, I don't have it anymore. But now, I have a new ...

Your most sentimental Spyderco?

I was just wondering what is/are your most sentimental Spyderco(s)? Maybe we can get some nice stories regarding your most beloved or prized Spydie. Safe queens are permitted :p. For me, I didn't have a hand-me-down or was gifted any. My first Spyderco I bought in 2011, I gifted. It was a DF2 in bla...

Weird Nano-Oil on DF2 result

Hey guys, I don't really delve into much lubricants. I either use mineral oil, Nano-Oil (10 weight) or now, Ballistol. Nano-Oil works for me usually, but I've noticed the results using it on my DF2 are quite frankly...horrible. After washing, cleaning, and drying my DF2, I put about 3 drops in the p...

Re: Endura 5 ever coming out?

SG is a powdered steel made by Takefu (VG-10).

Maybe the color of the G10 will be a goldish, yellowish type of color to compliment the SG? Kinda how the Dove Gray complemented the SB :p
