Re: Can anybody recommend a trusted sharpener who can reprof

Hey thanks for all the posts guys! And thanks for the offer jackknifeh but Jason responded very fast and I'll be sending apparently all 3 of my spydercos to him. As for reprofiling, with these prices I guess i see little reason to invest in the equipment to do it myself and take the time. I can get ...

Re: Can anybody recommend a trusted sharpener who can reprof

I would pop on over to the greener forum if I were you, lots of stand up guys there that will do aftermarket work for you. Whether it's sharpening, mods, coatings you name it. They have whole sections devoted to this type of thing. Good luck! Thanks for the reply. So....what exactly is the greener ...

Can anybody recommend a trusted sharpener who can reprofile?

I got a paramilitary and a native FRN combo edge and the straight edge on the Native and the paramilitary are at too shallow an angle for me to hit with my sharpmaker. I took my old delica4 saber grind to a "professional" who has his own knife sharpening store and he absolutely butchered i...

Re: How do I sharpen a native FRN combo edge? (sharpmaker)

Derp, yeah that makes perfect sense. Didn't take the chisel grind into account. I'm an amateur at sharpening, i am pretty fond of this knife. I might see about finding somebody that can do it for me or send it to spyderco if that's something they can do.

Re: How do I sharpen a native FRN combo edge? (sharpmaker)

My advice would be to reprofile the beveled side of the pe section to 15 degrees. Cut any burr off the backside with a few near flat strokes. Once you have it reprofiled with a clean apex, simply do touchups and make a mb with the sharpmaker at the 40 degree setting. When doing chisels grinds I do ...

How do I sharpen a native FRN combo edge? (sharpmaker)

Giving away my beloved delica as a gift since i got a paramilitary 2 for christmas. I also got a sharpmaker which i've had a lot of experience with due to borrowing my buddy's but now i got one of my own and i figured i should use it. The non serrated part of the native frn combo edge didn't come ve...
