Re: Using the EBay App to report fakes

Thanks for sharing. I've been seeing a few fakes pop up on ebay lately, but I didn't know about this reporting tool.

Re: Super Transportation question: What are your thoughts?

The pessimist in me says that it would only be a matter of time until this super transportation would be ruined due to terrorist attack and subsequent security measures (lots of people moving fast seems like a huge enticement for evil people). Honesty, I don't think it would have much of an impact o...

Re: Removing Anodization

Yes, anodized coatings are a step beyond a paints so they are more resistant to removal. The whole point of anodizing is that you are GROWING a mechanically strong, chemically inert, and well-adhering coating on the surface of the metal rather than slathering on a paint coating. The anodized coating...

Re: Giving it a shot

Do you have a specific job/position in mind? No, it's a little too soon for me to start looking for or moving to a new employer. I was just hoping to sit down with somebody and find out more about the company and the type of people they see the company needing over the next few years. I've been bui...

Looks pretty wild, MadRookie!

I've yet to try pickled eggs, although I've heard only good things about them from people who have tried one.

Giving it a shot

Well, I finally decided to give it a shot and submit my resume to Spyderco. I don't know if I'll even get a response (hence the subject title), but I've always had a great love for knives, so combined with my interest in metallurgy, I figured it couldn't hurt to reach out and see how I might be able...

Re: Iron Pillar of Delhi, India: Anyone ever seen this?

That pillar is very interesting.

I remember that the first time I saw a foot bridge made of weathering steel (in Pagosa Springs, CO), I thought that it sure looked like the surface of the Iron Pillar of Delhi.

Re: Self Healing Methods

First of all, stop eating meat. Fish is okay, but only during the vernal equinox when the sun's energy is at it's highest frequency (127.7 JigaOhms) or during winter (if you are a Leo or Pisces) if you remember to hang a seaweed bouquet above the table while you eat. Also, you can often retransition...

Re: Pry bars and Knives

Interesting idea, I'd find a pry bar useful (opening paint cans comes to mind).

I'm ashamed to admit that I have occasionally done a bit more with my knife than is safe for the blade, but it makes me cringe to see how some knives get abused with prying.

Uh oh, you'd better not let the TSA hear that.

They'll start making us board planes in the buff!

Re: Lum Tanto sprint handle material change

At the Spyderco sale last month I was about to check out when I picked up one of these fixed blades in G-10. I really didn't want to buy more, but the design felt and looked so great that I added one to my basket. I slightly prefer the way the "grain" of the G-10 scales compliments the con...

Re: The factory seconds have hit eBay

I think the Spyderco seconds sale policies have had a huge impact on keeping ebay sales and such from getting out of hand. Obviously, limiting each person to 25 knives prevents a handful of ebay sellers from coming in extra early and capturing all the rarest and most expensive knives. More important...

My trusty Native is with me today, but it could be usurped when I find/make a sheath for one of my factory 2nd purchases!

Re: Car Emergency Kit: Suggestions?

A lot of repeats, but here's what I came up with based on my categorizations: POWER: I hate the way alkalines leak during storage and they're awful in the cold, so I've been switching to lithium AA and AAA batteries. I'm not yet quite sold on battery jumpstarters or hand crank anything, but I think ...
