According to him, he was fixing the knife. He claimed that there was a burr where the pivot meets the liner which prevented the pivot from seating completely. I believe that Spyderco will still perform maintenance and repairs on your knife even if the warranty is voided. However, expect to be charged for the service and parts if the knife has been taken apart, I'm guessing the OP didn't pay so much for the knife in the first instance so definitely worth ...
