Re: Custom Tuff
haha! cliff, thanks for sharing this. i just added the review on my other review page here. also trying to figure out where to report counterfeits. i found a guy on ebay selling a new titanium military out of malaysia for $150 new. seems suspicious, i reported it on ebay as well.

Re: ATTENTION SAL GLESSER tuff in for warranty, won't catra?
i appreciate all the trouble you have gone to, to help find out what the issue was. i'm not sure what could be the difference as i am certainly not as knowledgeable about the science behind knives as you are, i expect that through a run of knives that variations can occur from one knife to the next ...

Re:
I've only bought two and have been very happy with them. I don't intend to buy any more. I use these whenever I want an innocuous but useful EDC. I carry one of these whenever I'm in Canada. First I bought a GEC Melon Tester from an ebay retailer for about $85 Second I bought a custom in whalebone ...

Re: dear Spyderco, will you ever bring back the catcherman?
nice! too bad those were just a sprint run though. i was just looking at an auction for an old one from 93 with a box with a buy it now price of $200. a bit steep. i have a couple of martiini filet knives that have been sharpened to death that i ended up with as well as an old US produced uncle henr...

dear Spyderco, will you ever bring back the catcherman?
i only ask as i'm an avid fisher when my schedule allows. i in general am not a fan of any filet knives i've happened upon as most are cheap and flimsy the cheap part doesn't matter as much as the flimsy though. yours would be one that would actually seem to be a more reliable offering. oh, and sinc...

Nice videos. Sigh, now I need a tuff. wow! you caught that fish? nice! and thanks for the kind words. the tuff is an excellent knife. i'm thinking about buying another just for backup after the christmas season is over. maybe i'll be dual wielding those bad boys! LOL!! if you end up pick...

Re: Spyderco Tuff 2 Year EDC Review
it is alongside the tuff and southard as my favorite. it sharpens up easily, holds an edge phenominally well, haven't had any corrosion concerns. it's in my pocket right now in fact. sorry, i'm not the best writer, i think i should stick to saying it on videos. i just thought i'd share some of the p...

Spyderco Tuff 2 Year EDC Review
yesterday, i would have done the 2 years of edc review on the spyderco tuff had it been with me as i received mine on september 7th 2012 and had made it my everyday carry for all this time aside from when it was in warranty. so, here it is. previous to the first spyderco tuff i had bought, the best ...

Re: ZDP-189 - choosing the right waterstone
it's funny you mentioned the Arkansas stones, as the reason i was asking about the base of the naniwa is i just found my Arkansas stone that has a wood base cracked into three pieces from the wood base having warped. i will not be investing in anything with a wood base in the future. fortunately a c...

Re: Spyderhole Insert Design Idea: Would it work or no?
i like the idea of that. like a rubber fitted type gasket to put into the spyderhole. i have been trying to find something for my wife to use and while i find it easy to open my spydercos, my wife has difficulty and i like her to have some sort of quick access knife with her when i'm not around that...

Re: ZDP-189 - choosing the right waterstone
ah...i read that part but, didn't absorb it apparently about recutting the stone. my king 6k seems to mud some but, it seems to clog and glaze over quickly but, it's a breeze to clean it and flatten it as it seems pretty soft and it does polish steel very well. have you tried you king extra coarse y...

i think the southard would look good like that, maybe with a nail nick for the countries with regs about one hand openers. the southard is such a good knife.

Re: Ever seen a Worker like this? (3 new Spydercos from Japa
i met a guy at work a couple days ago who was sporting a spyderco. i asked to see it and at first i thought it was a worker of some sort as it had the roundness over the spyder hole but, the handle looked like a delica 4 model in green frn. turns out it was an emerson model that he cut the emerson o...

Re: ZDP-189 - choosing the right waterstone
so, naniwa stones do well for high carbide steels? i may have to pick one up at some point. i generally have a pretty easy time with my shapton 2k glass as long as the edge damage is fairly insignificant. the 500 does pretty fair as well and i can get a nice shaving edge in a minute or so off of it....
