Re: ZT

I like the looks and build of the 562, and I'm thinking about getting one for my dad. He's watched too many youtube videos of custom ti framelock flippers and now thinks he needs one, despite being unable to figure out how to reliably open and comfortably close my skyline. I won't buy anything more ...

Any Manix is going to be on the large side. If you want to keep costs down, get a Robin 2 for miscellaneous cutting when out and about.

Re: What do you hope to see in the catalog?

The lil temperance 2 and a green ZDP Meerkat sprint. An ironwood handled, unlaminated shirogami #1 version of the new stretch would also be awesome.

Me too, but I use a ballet slipper. Joes a bad influence!
The mental image of you dancing around in a tutu is more terrifying than any knife.

Re: I dislike the Para...I can't be alone

The PM2 just didn't work in my hand or front pocket and it really put me off of aggressively contoured handles. That combined with my inability to find a comfortable grip position on my dad's Endura kept me from getting a larger folder. I decided to give it one more try and jumped on a Manix 2 XL fo...

Re: Fishing gear for kids?

Sportman's guide still has some Pflueger Cetina underspin reels for $25. The 4 size is about the same weight as an ultralight spinning reel, and it has a vastly superior drag compared to most spincast/underspin reels. Walmart has the Eagle Claw 1 piece 5ft featherlight spinning rod for $17 or the 5'...

Re: Damascus Steel question

The Damascus Kershaws are very reasonably priced and are made with steel from the well regarded Alabama Damascus. Amusingly enough, my skyline's bead blasted liners rust like crazy, while the blade itself stays flawless with minimal care.

If you register for the newsletter by entering your email address instead of doing so when you register an account , you're stuck using the coupon code and can't combine it with redshighfive.

If they are importing weapons without the appropriate license, I hardly see this as unreasonable, especially if the importer is a non citizen. New Zeeland is extremely protective of local industry and restrictive with immigration for very good reasons.

To be fair, this is a small blog post targeted at affluent NYC professionals and you could just as easily take it as thinly veiled criticism of NYC's laws and the behavior of private security within the city. The line about decorative touches influencing usage perception, the "stay at home knif...

Re: Real Para 2?

It looks real, and the seller has extensive positive feedback and a rather large inventory of Spydercos, many of which have yet to be counterfeited.

I would email Cutlery Shoppe to confirm that they have stock, as the price is $25 less through them.

I really like the Dyad, but not enough to pay $140. It would make a great office knife, especially since it looks like a funky Case rather than a weapon.

The lava just looks like an ergonomic nightmare.

If anyone is interested in a Becker BK15, Red's Gear has them for 42.99, but for a new customer it would be 22.99 with a specific sequence. Registering an account gets you $5 in points. After registering, sign in and opt in to the newsletter. This gives you another $10 in points. Add the BK15 to you...

Re: Pics of Native 5 G10 with Native 5 FRN LTW

You know, this picture made me realize something. I don't like this new FRN style. Look at the brown Native's handle and look at the new lightweight. The brown is more rounded and sculpted, while the lightweight has those hard edges which are also on the lightweight dark blue Manix. While I love my...

Tape over the blade(also to help keep from cutting yourself) and lock area and a keep a vacuum handy to help keep any shavings from getting into the pivot or lock.

And then you clip one to the pocket of a light pair of shorts, and even 3 ounces of steel whacking you in the jewels makes you wish you had the frn dragonfly.

Stretch or Endura.
For the current going rate of a Super Blue Endura, you could get the Stretch and be halfway to getting a Dragonfly. Which is what I'm planning on if they're both still available when I get my end of year bonus.
