Re: Delica size with fidget factor?
Para 3 LW is hard to beat. Don't have one, but the action on the one I had a chance to handle was addictive. For some reason I enjoyed playing with it more than with the PM2 (which is a great knife!). I think it was the weight balance of heavy-ish blade and light handle. If you would consider liner ...

Re: Chaparral
Yes, as far as I can tell with my limited skills the Chap is not really thin behind the egde, true (I actually thinned mine out a bit) - so the edge itself is not an extreme "laser beam" right from the factory But it still cuts through (especially softer) material easier, cause the whole ...

Re: Chaparral
I really like my Chap since I got custom (a bit thicker than the original ones) carbon fiber handles for the FRN model. But I don't understand what the 'laser beam edge' is supposed the mean. The Thickness BTE is very comparable to most other EDC-oriented Spydercos.

I am going to add a sprint run of Worker in CruWear SE and G10. @JD Spydo can you please get this one done? It would be very much appreciated

Re: CRUWEAR Is now my Favorite SE blade steel
My experience with SE blades is still limited, but SE Ayoob is definitely my favorite. I thinned the main (flat) bevel om the left side a bit, then went for a bit more acute angle on the serrations - love how the thing goes through cardboard now. I am so happy that this sprint run happend.

Re: Is there a quintessential Spyderco?
I am not disagreeing with the Calypso/Delica/Endura/PM2/Mili line of thought here, but I am missing the perspective of Spyderco bringing knives by various designers and all of the Ethnic series knives. These knives for me are one of the most unique 'features' of Spyderco and the immensely expand des...

I was thinking long and hard about what could be the most non-realistic steel upgrade to Astute. I think I got it now.

Not sure whether this is a good deal or not, but Lamnia just got a few Jumpmaster 2 knives in stock - something that has not happened in a very long time:

Re: The Astute
I just tried to put my (long hibernated) MXG clip that was sold as for Manix XL and PM2 (I used to use with my the Brouwer back when I still had mine - it was great fit), but it would not work straight away as the distance between the screws on the Astute is a little larger than the holes in the cli...

Re: The Astute
OK. I wanted to start a thread om this very knife, but since this one is out, here is my personal feedback: I was intrigued by the design of this knife for a few years now. But because of some personal reasons and also because I am pretty much a steel snob by now - I took a long time to finally tell...

Re: What is the best application to tool steel for long term storage?
Frog Lube - it is food safe. There are stronger rust-protecting agents, but I would rather not have on surfaces that might get in contact with food.
Here you can find a very detailed comparison of over 40 anti-rust agents

Re: Steels and spyderedge
Interesting discussion indeed! My experience with serrated edges is somewhat limited. H1 on my pacific has seen quite some use in the garden (a LOT of contact directly with ground) and it would take quite a beating as the edge stability is not that great (mainly rolling), but it would be fairly easy...

Re: Spyderco 50th Anniversary Knife?
I apologize, but am I going to be a little disrespectful. Hearing "Native 5" kinda makes me yawn at this stage. There were sooo many of all kind of versions and they keep coming up on a regular basis. Making yet another one with just some anniversary etch would be a bit of a low profile ce...

Re: Seki City back lock quality in 2022?
Got a k390 Delica recently. The knife is perfectly fine, but I would much prefer not to have that 'give' in the lock when applying more pressure on the edge. But I understand this has more to do with the design of the lock rather than quality of the production.
