Chaparral
How have I overlooked this knife? The answer is the back lock. There's nothing wrong with this lock, it's just that the knife looks so similar to the Sage that it makes the knife seem boring or plain. But the Raffir Noble scales caught my eye and I had to have it. This knife is amazing! Scales are b...

Re: Spyderco Phil Wilson Southfork impressions and review
If Spyderco and Mr. Wilson ever do get together on a filet knife collaboration, you would be an easy choice to put it through its paces.

Re: Show us your lanyards!
Other than YouTube are there any good books about lanyards and bracelets? Looking at the size of this thread I am guessing this has been asked before.

Re: Compression Lock possible improvement
I don't think it would make it a 2 handed opener. I open my PM2 with one hand now and I don't believe that would change in the design change. One thing that might be a problem is the weakening of the areas where the cut outs are. You would have 2 cut outs 180 degrees from each other. Just a thought.

Compression Lock possible improvement
Don't get me wrong, the compression lock is my favorite but I was thinking if it were possible to design the part of the blade that the liner slips into that it would also lock while the blade was closed. Could there not be a 2nd cut out on the blade for the liner to slip into while it was in the cl...

Would the silica in teak then not be the reason saw blades and router bits dull faster while cutting teak? It is what I have always heard as the reason teak is harder on blades and bits. In regards to bamboo having silica, your blood also contains iron, that doesn't mean if you bleed on a piece of p...

I would think teak would be an edge killer. I know it dulls saw blades and router bits quickly because of its high silicon content. Loads of people have the bamboo cutting boards, mostly because it's fairly inexpensive, looks good and can handle years of use and abuse from knives and dishwashers. Bu...

No lead in the steel. The steel is heat treated in a bath of lead. Hi Sal, Really sorry for the thread necro, but I was interested in buying one of these kitchen knives as well. So there's lead in MBS-26? Is this a possible concern for lead poisoning at all? Sorry, I'm a total newbie when it comes t...

My whole professional career until the last two years has been in the refractory industry. Some refractory shapes are formed in an isostatic press, the advantages of this over standard vertical pressing is that you get pressure from all directions and improve densities. Also, you get the ability to ...
