I just got done cleaning up my UF stone, golden stone, double stuf, and all my sharpmaker stones. Best way to go imo, much better than comet.

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
Thanks all! That #71 really does it for me, I'm a big micarta guy and I just love how simple the design is. Not to mention its got a stellar blade on it and it cuts like nobody's business!

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
In the rfp as of late.. GEC Orange Delrin 71 Bull Nose.. Cant wait till the Natural Canvas Micarta arrives too!! John Couldn't agree more! Well, except that I'm waiting for an OD version, I already have my natural. Carrying it today actually! The #71 is one of my most carried blades ever. http://i1...

Re: What constitutes a locking knife?
Same concept as a dual action (Benchmade makes a few of those) can be manual or automatic. In the eyes of the law/law enforcement it is an automatic. The example locks, even though not all the time, it is still a locking knife. Thats just my opinion, but I honestly don't see how you could make an ar...

Great work Doug! If only WI would get moving on theirs. I know its in the works, its pretty ridiculous that you can carry a GUN but not an automatic knife in this state. Thanks. The Wisconsin legislation gets moving again next week with a hearing on the Senate bill. AWESOME! Thanks for the update!

Re: Opinions on Great Eastern?
I agree with all of the above. I carry a #71 Bullnose, or a single blade spear point #15 DAILY. And it most certainly is a slippery slope. The only lock back that I have of theirs is a Tidioute #83 in green micarta. It is a great knife! Good luck in your quest into a new land! Let us know what you t...

Re: Finding a specific GEC
Hey guys! I'm bringing this one back to life! I need some help locating a GEC #92 Talon with Green Micarta covers and/or a Case Swayback Jack with CV steel and the chestnut covers. I figured since you all did such a great job helping me out last time, might as well ask some guys in the know. If you ...

Re: Wicked Edge or EdgePro??
Aha, ok, that makes sense... :) To anyone looking to get an EP, here is my 2c... Make sure you get the 'stone levelling kit', or have an alternative method to maintain your stones. I find the 120 grit coarse stone does 90% of the work during a reprofile. It will lose most of its aggression during s...

Re: Spyderco Knock-offs, "Replicas"and Fakes
Looked through the bay earlier today, did a search for "Spyderco Paramilitary" and holy cats was I blown away with the amount of fakes on there. Some at least looked somewhat slick, but others were waaaaaayyy off. I was actually shocked, I've seen a few fakes on there before but nothing li...

Pocket Pistols
So I have a question about a CCW gun...again. My current carry lineup is as follows: LCR .357, Glock 42 .380, and a H&K P30 9mm (for when it's cold out). I do really like the G42, but I feel its a bit too large for the firepower. I was thinking of downsizing to a Kel-Tec P3AT or a Ruger LCP cust...

Re: Stone Wash: Your thoughts again?
I like it because its not shiny. People in public don't like shiny, same reason I stonewash my clips. I also like the way it looks and like Matt said it wears better than a satin blade. How do you recommend I stonewash a clip? I'd love to give it a try. People almost never notice black clips, but m...

Re: Bench Stone for Beginners
One tool that really helped me actually learn good Benchstone techniques were the two sharpening guides I got from Razor Edge Systems out of Ely, Minnesota. They have two types>>one for blades under 4 inches long and one for blades 4 inches long and longer. They really help you to keep a consistent...

Bench Stone for Beginners
I'm really interested in getting into freehand sharpening, and as such I've been looking on the inter webs for good stones. I am very intrigued by Japanese water stones (looked at King, Chosera/Naniwa Professional, Shapton), but there is so much out there that I don't really have any ideas of where ...
