As the title states, I want to know which Spyderco you own has the best fit and finish. Out of the Spyderco knives I own currently, the best fit and finish goes to the Chokwe. I was in the knifeworks store the other day. (Awesome experience btw) and got to handle pretty much every spyderco I have e...

they are rust proof unless you are in an environment which would melt your lungs and boil your blood. obviously you should rinse anyways, but that's because the salt and grime can grit it up, or become difficult to clean. but it won't rust on you. that's kind of why I don't see the appeal of h1 for...

Welcome! They are great knives. There is nothing new or original about your story. Many of us on here have had the exact same experience...i certainly did. Spyderco knives can look a little different. That's because they are made to function. Whatever form that ends up taking is how they look. And y...

It's pretty thin, sorry, I'm too lazy to get up and measure mine, but looking at it I'd say about 1/4". It is one of my favorite knives! It is a perfect small knife in so many ways. The dragonfly is an absolute ergonomic masterpiece!

I've got a couple of questions that will probably only show my ignorance regarding steel. If I read correctly, s35 should have less "large carbides" than s30? Again, forgive my ignorance, but ive sometimes had a hard time getting those "novelty" edges on my s30v steel. I've discu...

Show me a good mechanic with a rusty wrench. ;) Within its limits, WD40 is an excellent product, but its limits are fairly narrow. This test: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/lid=10700/GunTechdetail/Gun-Cleaning-Clinic-Knowing-the-Limits-of-Rust-Preventatives at Brownells is a useful read. Mmm, I don...

First off, welcome to the Forum. Personalities and history comes into play when reading someone's posts. For better or worse, attitude has a lot to do with how someone is received. Thanks for the welcome. You're right. I got no dog in this fight. Carry on. I would like to hear more "opinions&q...

Cliff, All depends how you define "recently". Considering human history, 2-3 thousand years is fairly recent. IIRC Archimedes did quite well in what he did, but probably he would have a hard time to measure speed of light. Did I answered you question? It actually reminded me the question,...

Chuck, amen and thank you. Highly opinionated statement warning... The funny thing about "patina" is that I was taught by mechanics to take care of my tools and their word for patina was "rust" and where people today sometimes use "patina" as a verb they would have use...

I'm picking up my first GB on Friday and bringing it home to Costa Rica next week. I live directly on the beach in the tropics, so we'll see how that goes with the m4. ;) . I am still trying to decide the best way to take care and protect the blade. Thinking to force a patina, or maybe just use some...

I just saw that the tip is thin on the militarys, thank you for pointing that out that makes it easy on me. The pacific salt seems to be the same knife as the endura but with H1 steel and a more robust tip that is not as pointed. The Pacific Salt seems to be more my style when fully serrated, howev...
