Re: Ancestry?

A friend of mine had a DNA test and they only said he was from central Europe. He complained, and got his money back. He's an unusual fellow, so it just added to his mystic. Maybe he's got that alien DNA.

Re: Military 2 Discussion (Merged)

The Para2 is a nice little knife, but the Para2 XL is much more comfortable in hand. Not to mention the larger blade for work.

Re: Tanto blades

I'm sure there will be more tanto blades from Spyderco, it will just take awhile. In the mean time there's no shortage of quality tantos from various manufacturers at all price levels.

Re: Toughness differences in earlier vs current generation Endura/Delica?

When I first got a full flat ground Endura, my saber ground Endura actually cut better because it was much sharper than the flat ground was out of box. Although that's easily fixed, the difference in geometry didn't seem to matter much for my uses. The saber ground Enduras were nice knives. I liked ...

Google is our friend. In addition to Dune Messiah by Director Villeneuve, there will be a MAX prequel series “Dune: Prophecy”.

Re: Favorite sci-fi movies?

Saw Dune Part2 on HBO the other night. I was a bit disappointed in that it didn't seem to be as good a movie as Part 1 was. You should see Part 2 though if you're a fan of the books, it's not all that bad. I found it interesting they ended the movie in a way suggesting there will be a Part 3 and may...

Re: Ways to "Thief Proof" cars?

If you don't have one, rent a garage. A friend of mine parking on the street had two catalytic convertors stolen and his window broken in the last year. Stick shift is a good idea too. One of those big wheel lock bars works well because they can see it from 30 feet away and look for another car. Put...

These Millies would be nicer with framelocks, but I'm in for one.

That's a lot of nice knives. Police4 and Endura4 in PD#1 for sure.
That Spy27 M2 looks to solve my Spy27 needs in a big way.
Way to go, Spyderco.

Enough of civics class. Caught the HBO documentary on Stax Records the other day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAjCOWHUGM8 Pretty nice but only wets your appetite. If you search on YouTube there's a lot of good stuff there. https://youtu.be/o1emR12qb_Y?t=24 Booker T & The M.G.'s - Musicians H...

Caught the end of the Untouchables tonight.
Every hero needs a badazz sidekick. George Stone, Doc Holliday, Amos Burton, Job, Sundance, James Valentine; almost forgot the baddest sidekick, Kato.

Boomer. I remember Eisenhower running for president. Here's a little jingle kids were chanting back then: "Ike's in the White House talking on the phone, Nixon's in the dog house chewing on a bone." Yeah, we were all little political zombies even back then. Oh and the official word on the ...

I've never been on Facebook, but it always seemed odd to me that they would hate knives so much. Maybe they are just hyper paranoid. Take a look at what they spend on personal security for CEO's. https://www.businessinsider.com/how-much-bodyguards-security-costs-ceos-mark-zuckerberg-tim-cook-2023-3?...

Re: Where Artificial Intelligence Is Right Now

Do you worry about A.I. ? Some people are spending a LOT of money to make sure you do. Some good commentary here: https://substack.com/@aipanicnews Keep in mind that no regulation in America is going to stop A.I. research in other countries. In other words, all they're doing is giving China a clear ...
