I have a C01 (early) no hole, fat and skinny scale, not beveled. One the blade side one "SPYDERCO-USA" on side two "SEKI-XXXXX". Where the XXXXXs are the word Japan has been obliterated by a grinder/dermal tool.

I would like to try k390. But since its only made in frn models I really do not want to spend my money on it. Carried a Salt 2 wharnie at work the past few days and had to keep checking it was there — so light! The action was a bit stiff and gritty but after dropping the whole knife in some hot Rit dye (another advantage of Salts) it came out significantly smoother. I recommend it, such a great knife.

Ease of sharpening is much more important when it comes to serrated edges. Teeth with 15V? I’ll pass, k390 is already a chore, but let me know when full SE S30V comes around.

Wharcliffe k390 is under $100 now that it’s discontinued.
