Re: Alternative Calendar Contest Images
Chuck, I like the honey pic. I was suprised you changed it. Do you keep bees? I garden and keep chickens and have been talking about setting up a hive for years. My parents have a few hives, and I really suggest you give it a shot. Once the hive is established, they are very low maintenance and pro...

I love this contest! I will try and remember to get some of my alternates up after work.
They sure do make us wait a long time though! Good luck to everyone!

Loading the Kindle for holiday and I realise I've never read any of the Ian Flemming James Bond novels....Looks like my holiday's going shaken and not stirred ;) I love the bond books! I have only read a couple so far, as I tend to have a hard time finding them at any old/used book stores (I like p...

Re: 2016 Spyderco Forum Calendar Contest!
So, how many people are going to submit photos on the last day? I feel like there is always a late push, whether it be procrastination or not showing their hand, either way I am excited to see more awesome photos! I haven't taken a single pic with the calendar in mind yet. I may sit this one out. W...

Re: What Are You Reading ?
The Second Foundation (the third book in the Foundation Trilogy) by Isaac Asimov
I love this series and am glad I was convinced to give it a shot.
Next up is likely going to be Desert Solitaire by Edward Abbey, but Neuromancer by William Gibson sounds good, too.

Re: Recommend Me a Truck
Tricks like leaving the tailgate down or using a bed cover also improve MPG by around ~10% or more depending on the set up which is a great plus. Sorry to burst your bubble, but this just isn't true. Consumer Reports did tests and found that lowering the tailgate actually decreased gas mileage: htt...

Re: Recommend Me a Truck
Yeah I'm realizing this. I'm willing to stick with a 4 cylinder for the first time in my life, and from what I've read so far it's the best option for me because it sacrifices little in towing in the models I'm looking at. Tacomas are seeming like a good choice too. I just read some guys hitting ar...

Re: Recommend Me a Truck
The hardest item on your list is likely going to be fuel economy. I drive a 2011 Tacoma extended cab 4WD 6cyl and get 22-23mpg at best on the highway. My brother has an older Tacoma, I think a 2001, and his is the extended cab 4cyl manual and he gets about the same mpg as I do. I absolutely love the...

Excellent! That is great to hear gringo! I tried to pick each of them an appropriate Spydie for their lifestyle, needless to say I had a ton of fun with it hahaSurfingringo wrote:

Re: Anybody have the Assist salt yet?
I got all of my groosmen a Spyderco for my wedding coming up in August, one of them got an Assist H1. He is a back country ski-patrol/rescue in winter and a outdoor-ed/NOLS teacher in summer, so I figured this knife is perfect for him. I had always been curious about the Assist models, and after han...

Re: I knew this day would come...Spydie storage is full!
I used to store in spyderpacs but found it would limit my EDC rotation to a few knives, so my wife found this cabinet for me and put it in my study and now its much easier to select and go :-) IMG_0797 copy.JPG Not the best photo sorry That is an awesome collection and sounds like an awesome wife! ...
