Re: Want to buy a Southard, but one thing holding me back..
It would be nice to stick with the Original subject instead of hosanna's for this knife. I followed that topic before on BF. Personally I think its a flawed design. Like a beginners fault in designing. I havent bought the Southard because of this reason. We may expect better from Spyderco. Time for ...

Re: Computer geeks, I need help
What are you going to do with the PC to make you want 32GB?
Look on hardware sites what people use with your particular board and why.
Discover if there are incompatibility probs with some module brands/versions to avoid.

Re:
It's nice looking, I like the little more belly and the extra handle length...but not being a fan of choils, I'm not overly thrilled by it. I gotta say I'd love to see a completely choil-less version of the Stretch. I would probably be set for life... Everyone have own preferences but the Stretch I...

That Evogrip S18 model is one of the former Wenger models. I have a Wenger S557 (now rebranded Victorinox) https://www.swiss-knife.com/en/swiss-army-knives/victorinox/delemont-collection/victorinox-delemont-collection-evogrip-s557.html" target="_blank But when youre looking to real no-nons...

Re: Taiwan made Lockbacks?
Please name the lockbacks (midlocks) that are produced by Taiwan. On the Spyderco site you can open the Catalogue and then there is the option in topmenu to select on: Country of Origin so you can select to see only all Taiwan knives. Then its pretty easy to scroll to it to find your desired locks....

Re: Southard Aluminium
I think it's pretty clear...people just like it the way it is. (stripped out the boyish Ferrari comparison) You really think that the thoughts of some onetrackminded knifenuts is a good representation of the world? Sorry but you all are trapped in your own thoughts, there is no room in your brains ...

Re: Southard Aluminium
You have a very wrong impression. It has nothing to do with that some disagrees with me. It all has to do that you apparently are not able to pick up the core of the things I brought in discussion. And no I never said, neither pretend it is complex. Its not complex at all. Examples makes it pretty g...

Re: Spyderco Adventure Knife
Not to belabor the point, but 'adventuring' is not the same as camping. You simply are not going to enjoy, nor use effectively, a 6 inch bladed knife on your hip or in your gear. I lay the stress on > knife that would be fit for hard-use global adventuring We go out from the situation that its your...

Re: Spyderco Adventure Knife
I have a second part to this question: Obviously, there are thousands of times every day when people use Spyderco knives for general/everday purposes, such as opening mail, cutting string and cord, preparing meat and food, etc. And we have read posts on here where people used Spyderco knives to hel...

Re: Spyderco Adventure Knife
I understand that each Spyderco knife has certain areas where its use is stronger or weaker, and there is no "universal knife" so far. But, out of all of the Spyderco knives that exist, both past-discontinued and currently-manufactured, which would you all pick for a "General Purpose...

Re: Southard Aluminium
Sal has said before that price is rarely a factor to where or how they build a knife. If you want high quality cheap knives I would look to the FRN line or even the Chinese Tenacious line. If you want a Taichung quality flipper you will pay similar prices...drastically cheaper flippers are of worse...

Re: Southard Aluminium
[bunch of irrelevant talk. You think there is no market for a cheaper version? You ignore the large amount of people that say in reviews the knife is a bit to expensive for what you get/in comparison to others. You ignore the success of the Lion Steel of my example. Problem with people like you is ...

Re: Southard Aluminium
. Another point that LC Kid addressed is that I hate aluminum on knives. I once owned a Southard, but if it had aluminum I definitely wouldn't have bought it. I don't even like steel frame-locks. I described an idea where there would be a version ASIDE the current one. You bring something into the ...

Re: Southard Aluminium
I bet the biggest realistic obstacle to this is the lack of capacity in the Taichung facility... I believe it has been stated several times that they are at max, and have been for quite awhile... I have no idea on what base Spyderco has made their contracts with these manufacturers. Spyderco can le...

Re: Southard Aluminium
Your price comparison doesn't work for this comparison. First and most importantly, the SR-1 is produced on existing tooling. No such tooling exists for your aluminum Southard. The SR-1 Ti and Al versions are packaged substantially differently: wood box with tool vs. cardboard box with no tool. The...
