Clark, I have not been in your shoes, I am in your shoes. Right now, I know exactly how it feels. Bitterness was no solution for me, I am still in contact with her. Then again, you might handle it different, and let me tell, it's not easy for me either. I figured I still want to be her friend. Do 'f...

no folders. they attract dirt.

A small fixed that cuts. Spyderco Temperance or Perrin come to my mind. I'd take my custom Perrin, carbon steel, easy to sharpen.

A khukuri, likely a 18" sirupate. Will take down trees, and people. Light and quick.

Talk to her about it. Obvious advice I guess, but recent trouble in my life again showed me the importance of talking about problems. Makes life a lot easier. Also, I think you should consider talking to her parents. Put your cards on the table, be honest, but confront them with the issues that are ...

Works like a charm IWB with the method Fred Perrin often ships his knives with - tie a string to the steath, attach the string to your belt and you're good to go. Length of string depends on personal preferences.

Kristi, can you verify the 0.15%C from the Spyderco Steel chart? Roman Landes has wondered if this is true, since the steel allegdly reaches such high RC hardness

Discussion (in German) here, if anyone cares: http://www.messerforum.net/showthread.php?t=34482

Thanks,

ATTN: Sal, H1 questions

Hi Sal,

I've got a couple of questions about H1:

- What Rc hardness is Spyderco using?
- Did you do any tests with X15TN before choosing H1? If yes, how does it compare?

Regards,

Keno

the picture will change colors even if you follow the directions. it will change from the weird colors to 'normal' colors. then, after you blink, you will realize it's only black and white.

Strange, cause on their site it says in bold, large letters: " DO NOT DISASSEMBLE YOUR BENCHMADE KNIFE " Anyways, this isn't the place to discuss it, and where am I bashing Benchmade? Doo, Spyderco has the same policy. You said they'd charge you a fee as soon as one disassembles the knife...

Yeah, but if you disassemble your knife to clean it, then put it back together again, then later decide you need to send it in for a lock problem, etc. you guys will still fix it for free, right? Because Benchmade charges a fee as soon as you disassemble the knife. If you want to bash Benchmade, at...

Dito the filet knife, or something the size of the temperance.

I really would like to have a fixed blade that can withstand camping use in marine enviroments; etc. gutting and preparing fish, but it should still have a bit less flex than a true filet knife.

The are spyderco sponsored passarounds in Europe, more specific in the UK (I think) and in Germany/Austria. I am organizing the latter ones. If folks from the Netherlands register at the messerforum.net, we might be able to figure out a way to let them participate as well. On a sidenote, a period of...

I've always found that serrations cut more aggresivly, which also means they sometimes tear up stuff more than a plain egde. The advantage is that a dull serrated edge will still cut stuff better than a dull plain edge - although you might want to use a box cutter when delicate cutting is more impor...
