I just saw, in a google image search, a picture of the old non-black street bowie. It is clear that the satin finished blade disappears inside of the handle.

Still curious about the design underneath....

Street Bowie Question

I just got my black Street Bowie. It looks like the tang extends down into the handle, and is exposed in the back. Upon further examination, it seems that the tang is not exposed, and that the jimping on the back of the handle is in the plastic. Can anyone verify this? How far does the tang go into ...

Any quality made knife (Spyderco :) )can be effective for self defense, so long as you are effective as well.

A well trained dude with a Lava or Dragonfly could make a mess out of an attacker, if it was his day to win.

Just got mine today, definately worth the wait.

I'll be ordering another, for a pre-need replacement, as soon as the supply normalizes.

Mine just shipped.... I think that this is the longest I've ever waited for a knife. Every other knife I thought I had to have and couldn't get, I ended up finding something else to catch my interest in the meantime, but not the Yojimbo 2.

They said that they recieved a shipment a week ago, and another today, and are still filling pre-orders.

Their site said it was in stock and for sale in error.

I honestly think that people over-think this topic sometimes It's all fun and games until Law Enforcement wants to take your stuff, or otherwise violate your rights. The law is written so that it can include any folding knife, maybe, and there is very little case law other than that an assisted ope...

Thanks for the reinforcement guys, I cancelled my order for the Manix 2, and will be getting a Native 5 instead.

I was really looking forward to the Manix, but I don't want to risk seizure of a $100 knife...

The only case law I've found for this, in WI, was where some kid was prosecuted for having a "switchblade" because of the assisted opening device on what I believe was a Kershaw... It's probably best to obtain legal counsel from an actual attorney. I see, please point me to the nearest &qu...

What is the difference between knife models? I mean really. 90% of the difference is shape isn't it? A few different handle materials, but mostly G10... stainless liners... and Mostly S30V steel. So in the end there isn't much difference from knife to knife other then shape, is there? Thickness of ...

I was at the Spyderco Store in Golden and they were showing me all the different lock types. When they pulled out the Manix2 they were proud to tell me that the Ball Bearing lock is the strongest lock they have in their lineup. From what understand it is a direct answer to Benchmades Axis Lock. The...

Sturdiest Spyderco Folder

What do you think is the sturdiest Spyderco (folder), as far as blade thickness, lock strength, parts to wear or break, etc.? I've been amazed at how solid my Delica and Endura have been, with the strong liner lock and the steel reinforced plastic handle. What else is out there? I'm lookint at a Man...

I stumbled across this thread and remembered that I have a pair of Lavas in the safe collecting dust. One is brand new, with the plastic tape stuff still on it. The other was worn a few times but was never used to cut anything and is like new, aside from a few surface marks (normal for SS handles). ...

Hi RatDrall, DoctaD, Welcome to the Spyderco forum. When we intro a new model, we try to make a "good" amount. Enough to get them into the marketplace and see reaction, but not so many that if there's an unexpected glitch, we're not throwing away a lot of parts. We also plan the quantity ...

Absolutely not. Production of the Yo2 is scheduled to resume again very soon. Based on the projected numbers and schedule, I am very confident that we will be able to satisfy existing backorders and hit a comfortable "stride" to ensure consistent availability. Our US factory does an excep...

Where are the Yojimbo 2s?

I've been looking to order a pair of Yojimbo 2s for the last few months and still can't find any.

Have these been discontinued?

Does anyone know where I could get one?
