Byrd - real or fake

This one just cropped up on an auction site

Image

I don't know enough about Byrds to know if it's real or fake (I suspect the latter) so would appreciate any input .

Tenacious v Delica - size comparison needed please

G'day from Australia, where our customs service have pretty much shut down the ability to import any kind of folding knife in the past twelve months. As such, local stocks of folding knives of all brands are rapidly drying up. I own and love a Tenacious, and hope to find another soon before they are...

Ladybug ZDP is much awesomeness in a wee package. On the opposite end of the scale, Endura 4. I just got mine a couple of days ago and I love it. A great fit in my biggish hands and insanely sharp. I waved it in the general direction of an apple last night and was suddenly surrounded by tiny little...

How does the salt H1 feel in your hands in comparison to the Millie. I just got my Camo Millie too and like it a lot. I love the Millie straight out of the box. It's a perfect fit for my hands (24cm/9.5in span for reference). The Pacific Salt is that bit smaller of course, but the first thing I not...

Oh shut up. Was trying to get this posted before the wife and kids woke up and started asking too many questions. Fixed now. :P

My Millie arrived about an hour ago and I adore it straight out of the box. It's a perfect fit for my big hands, absolutely buttery smooth action and looks cool as ****. So much to love about this knife and makes me glad I couldn't get the Para2 here in Oz and decided to get the Military instead. I'...

Population growth :)

Up until yesterday I only had my Tenacious. Then the postperson knocked on my door :D

I think if every model started getting coloured handles it would lessen the appeal of them to some degree. Also, from numerous comments on this forum, it seems that most folks who start with something like a Tenacious tend to only get one, but move on to the more specialized/'up market' models, whic...

That Tenacious seems to have a knack for sucking us in and getting us hooked. I had exactly the same thing happen to me, buying it more out of curiosity than anything. Now I'm waiting on three other Spydies to be delivered, and already looking for what's beyond that. Welcome to the fun.

I already ordered a Military, Endura 4 XDP and Pacific Salt H1 just after Christmas but they are not here yet.

Beyond that, a Sage 1 CF or a Dragonfly are the most likely next targets.

Now you've made me go and swap the knife I was carrying yesterday for my Tenacious (my only Spydie so far - mailman can't get here fast enough with the next three).

I suspect there is a reason why certain knives don't turn up used on ebay very often, if at all. Bite the bullet and order one in new. I just did and can't wait.

[quote="razorsharp"]New Zealand has import liscences. Does Aus do it They do but again you have to show 'reasonable excuse' why you should be allowed to bring the item into the country and you have to submit a new application every time you want to bring an item in. It is a lot of paperwor...

How difficult is it to get your concealed weapons license? Would it change things at all? Not something I have looked into in great depth but the main sticking point I believe would be displaying to the authorities proof of what they term 'reasonable cause' to carry such an item. Primary producers,...

Hi sal, yes I am. I've come late to the knife scene and initially thought Spydercos were about the weirdest thing I had ever seen. Then a dealer here offered up the Tenacious at an impossible to resist price and I figured I would find out what all the fuss was about. It took about 24 hours for it to...

So the question for me living in Australia is what Spyderco should I try to get before stocks run out. Manix 2 or the Paramilitary? I'm facing the same dilemma. I can't find anyone with the PM2 at all which is killing me. If you find a couple let me know please. In the meantime I'm trying to decide...

Help me choose two Spydies please

Yes I know there's a new thread like this every half hour or so but I feel my situation is a little unique so please bear with me. With the new Customs laws in Australia meaning that importers are wary of ordering more stock from the US, it appears we may be limited to what is already available in t...
