The copper wire in it is what worries me. There are enough reports of the copper wires sticking out of the sides of lightning strike carbon fiber (both from the start and poking out over time) that that alone makes me stay away. Just got mine today.

Never had one, handled it a bit, and I think I agree with what some people seemed to think - the grip was just too awkward for me. Your middle and ring finger kind of sinks into the big choil, and your pointer rests on "top" of it, right next to the blade. Just didn't feel great to me.

I'll agree with Delica/Endura/Police (they all seem to sort of have the same design). But the Civilian was the one knife that I really remembered from Spyderco when I first begun. It was just such a wicked looking blade... I'd never seen anything like it.

I'm assuming the lock is still holding up right? On a liner lock, the bottom-most bit of the lock (assuming the knife is cutting edge down), is the one that's supposed to contact your blade tang. If it were the portion of the liner lock closer to the pivot, than when you move the knife down, the bla...

Lots of folks have done this type of swap with good success. Since the backspring is key to getting a good lockup, I'd swap them along with the blades - just to ensure that the action is perfect. Also, there is a neat trick to getting the Delicas and other backsprings back together - you can see it...

I received my Navaja around last November (just more than a year ago). After two months, the ratchet broke, and the knife went silent. I voted Endura/Delica. Kind of bias because it was my first Spydie, but no choil and the size made it a winner for me back then.

Any chance of using CTek as a handle material? Looks pretty cool, and more unique than G10 (personally, I'm finding G10 and plastics a little boring now.) There've been reports of fragility along the edges of the cells of the material though.

Right, but the Civilian was designed to be used by those without training. Just a slash and dash weapon. It's a wicked as heck of a blade, and anything it catches.... that S shape will pretty much trap and shred the flesh (oooh nasty images.) I mean, there's really no "need" to specificall...
