Re: Dragonfly vs. Lil' Native

I don't have that much experience, but the Lil Native was my first Spyderco knife, and it really got me hooked.

It's an excellent design, and I can highly recommend it.

Unless he edited something and got autokicked to moderation again. I don't know how long that can happen. That's what happened, since English is not my native language I sometimes use phrases or descriptions that don't make any sense, I've corrected a few of those. Nice review, Palestrina! (It's ba...

Re: My first SLIPIT experience / Spyderco Urban

stupid question maybe, but where exactly is the review? I've edited something, and it got kicked to moderation. Might take some time until my posts won't need to be approved anymore. You won't miss that much anyways, everything I say at the moment basically boils down to "These Spyderco knives...

Re: My first SLIPIT experience / Spyderco Urban

Good review, thank you for posting! I agree with you on most counts, but would point out that the shorter backspring on the UKPK actually makes it lighter than the Urban. Thank you! I think it comes down to personal preference. The UK PK for sure is a great knife, but the enclosed spine on the Urba...

My first SLIPIT experience / Spyderco Urban

Hello everyone bored enough to read this thread. A month ago I got me my first Spyderco, the Lil' Native Back Lock C230MGPB, and I really, really enjoy this knife. As a left handed person which is used to traditional designs, theres two types of knives I love the most - backlocks and slipjoints. Bei...

Re: Tri-Angle™ Stones Cubic Boron Nitride or Tri-Angle™ Stones Diamond?

Thank you guys for all the suggestions and information. I've been aware that there are some threads here and on other places on this topic, but some of them are pretty old and the longer a product is on the market and the more experienced users are out there, the better the information. It was not m...

Tri-Angle™ Stones Cubic Boron Nitride or Tri-Angle™ Stones Diamond?

Hello everyone, I want to buy more aggressive stones for my sharpmaker, but I'm not sure which stones to get. Is there a big difference between the CBN and the diamond stones? Any advantages one has over the other? I most likely will reprofile some kitchen knives to start, and just wanted to get som...

Re: A step into the modern world with the Lil Native / thoughts

- Technically you actually COULD repair damages in an S30V edge with the mediums... but Bill is still right, this often times would mean a ton of work. When getting lower grit rods you can also consider the CBN ones. Lots of discussions here about how much the CBNs and the Diamonds differ in perfor...

Re: A step into the modern world with the Lil Native / thoughts

Congratulations on your first (of many) Spyderco knives! And....that is one very slick looking Slipjoint! Thanks :) Yes, the Nontron Violon is a really nice slipjoint. I like traditional french folders generally, especially Nontron knives. If you ever get a french knife keep in mind you will have t...

Did you get the back lock or compression lock model? I have the back lock and it is a dandy little knife, to be sure.
Hi, got the backlock, which was the logical choice for me since I am left-handed.

And I really love this knife. It's lightweight and feels strong at the same time.

A step into the modern world with the Lil Native / thoughts

Hello everyone, thank you for all your kind replies to my first thread (Recommendations for a European traditionalis), I've now got my first Spyderco knife and I'm going to tell you all the things you already know about anyways, but I'm just pretty excited. After checking out all of your suggestions...

Re: Recommendations for a European traditionalist

Thank you guys for all your kind and informative replies.

I've settled on the Lil Native and it arrived last week. My wife said it looks cute, it was available on Knives and Tools, so I pulled the trigger :)

Re: Recommendations for a European traditionalist

What I did not totally get so far: - Do you, Palestrina, just want "dabble" into the world of modern folders a bit, but stay as close to "traditional" as possible (in this case perhaps something like a Chaparral with wood scales and its liners would be a good choice, also great ...

You guys are amazing, thanks for all this information, suggestions and insights. I won't be able to anser to every single one of you. Re: Recommendations for a European traditionalist

Left handed specific models are not always available. Our models are somewhat unique, but my suggestion would be to get a simple Delica, which is common, ambidextrous and quite poplar. This will give you an introduction into our company. Carry it and use it for several weeks, come back here and sha...

Recommendations for a European traditionalist

Hello all! First I need to introduce myself, since this is my first post. My name is Bernhard, I'm from a small European country named Austria. I've been into knives my whole life, roughly 35 years by now, but I've been interested mostly in traditional designs and manufacturers - so my collection is...
