Re: Regular or DyeMore Rit for FRN/FRCP?

Ive had really good luck with dyemore. Havent had any long term, but but put the ones ive done through some really hard use, and havent had any issues losing color or bleeding. Seemed to set in enough too where scratches havent really been showing the old color... there are less color options, but w...

Re: What are your top 5 favorite steels?

In no particular order. H1- i use it at work everyday. takes a beating like nothing else and only thing ive never rusted. Easy to resharpen in SE or PE Vg10- not the best at anything but pretty good at everything. Affordable and makes a great work knife steel, plus easy to resharpen. Lc200n- on gene...

Re: Fully serrated H2 vs Magnacut

Thanks all for the input. Seems the concensus is more towards h2. The reason i lean more towards the stretch 2 xl vs the already out pacific salt, is really just preference. I have some pacifics and enduras and while i love them, i just feel more secure with a choil with wet or underwater fully. The...

Fully serrated H2 vs Magnacut

I work in the marine field, and one of the main thibgs that initially drew me to spyderco was the salt series. A SE atlantic salt quickly became my go to. Sure the edge retention could be better but i can fix that easily on the sharpmaker a few times a week. Among other tasks part of my job is build...

Re: Food Safe Lube/Grease for pivots?

I use Super lube h3 lightweight oil. Most of superlubes oils and greases are "food safe" but the h3 version is certified for direct food contact. Really good stuff. I use it for everything from fishing reels, to pullies, to knives, and all sorts of stuff.

Re: if you could only own a 5 Spyderco knife collection:

Re: Post up your Rit dye projects..

Thank you to all who have added to the wealth of information here. After reading as much as i could here about dying, i finally decided to give it a try on my magnacut native salt. Was going for a more burnt orange, and happy with the results for my first try. Might have to try a couple more.
