Re: Is this the knife everyone clamors for?

I would definitely buy a Manix 2 back lock, yes. Tip up carry out of the box though, please.

Re: The Magnacut Paramilitary 2

In the end I didn't wind up keeping mine. Don't think it was any failing of this particular version of the knife, I just don't seem to gel with this combo of blade shape and lock. Probably the last of the military line I will buy at this point.

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???

Today was my new Hogue / SIG K320 AXG Classic: https://i.imgur.com/FoGV8Jm.jpeg They didn't quite nail it with the thumb hole (it's totally fine for thumb rolling it open, but it isn't the best feeling knife to try and flick open fast), but this may have the best handle I've ever felt on a folding k...

Re: Your favorite exclusives

I guess by default it's my GPK Manix 2 LW in Rex45, as I don't have any other exclusive Spyderco knives. The Stormtrooper colorway is cute.

Re: Manix Modifications. What have you done? What do you want to do?

How hard is the scale swap for the Manix 2? The AWT scales I put on my Native 5 LW are the best aftermarket scales I've ever used, so if the Manix 2 LW isn't too much harder I'll definitely grab a set when they get anodized finish options.

Re: Forum Update/Maintenance & Move - PLEASE READ

As you might have guessed by now, we're still tweaking some things. I wanted to get your feedback before we went further. We've already adjusted the font color and contrast. I'm looking into some alternate themes that you would be able to choose from in your settings. I'll let everyone know when th...

Anyone find a way to change the theme? Gray on gray is not the nicest to read
Yeah, this is my only issue with the new design. The text is much harder to read even when larger since the text color is no longer proper black.

Re: new coating coming!

I like coated blades, and I don't have a coated Native 5, so that's going to be my excuse for buying another one later this year. Especially if I can get an FDE colored blade with some OD green scales (maybe DLT or REC or someone that likes doing this colorway), I'm in.

Re: Recommendations for a European traditionalist

I'd definitely consider starting with either a back lock or ball-bearing lock (which currently is only on the Manix 2) if you can't put one in your hand before buying. Those are fully ambidextrous knife designs, and personally I also think Spyderco's best designs happen to come in these lock types a...

Both the Maxamet and the S90V are / were pin-construction only models as far as I know. The S90V one was a Cutlery Shoppe exclusive, too.

Re: Any recommendations?

I know you said 2-2.5 inches, but a Native 5 is only a bit larger at 2.95 inches and is about as perfect as a back lock folding knife gets in my opinion. The actual cutting edge is just under 2.5 inches, the rest is the forward finger choil that I think will make the knife easier to handle overall i...

Re: The Magnacut Paramilitary 2

It's odd because literally the only thing that isn't coated on the entire knife seems to be that stop pin. I can only assume it is made of something very rust-resistant since they didn't want it coated (probably as to not interfere with the tolerance of the lockup over time or something).

Re: The Magnacut Paramilitary 2

IMG_7091.jpeg Perfection. A PM2 salt is what I have always wanted. Is the handle any more chamfered than a normal PM2? It's definitely got a bit more chamfering on the outer edge. The inner edges are still squared, but I think this might be intentional just to give it slightly more grip when held t...

Re: The Magnacut Paramilitary 2

One thing I noticed now that we have a lot more images of this model - there's a bit of chamfering around the edge of the scales finally. It should feel a little less "square" than your standard PM2 in G10. Edit - Dang, DLT is so fast they even got my 2-day FedEx shipping here in a single ...

I believe your thinking is the same kind of thinking that has caused most manufacturers all over the world to make their product in China....les...

Re: GP knives Manix exclusive

I have the DLC coated version and it is one of my favorite folders. I also have the MagnaCut Salt version, but at home the Rex45 is the one that gets the most use between the two. Of all the Spydercos I've put in my hands so far, the only knife I could say I prefer to the Manix 2 LW is the Native 5....

Re: did somebody say magnacut manix...?!

Just got my Manix 2 Salt back from Spyderco warranty service. Was gone for about 3 weeks total - were it not for the fingerprints all over the blade, I would assume they didn't touch it at all. Pretty much exactly as I sent it to them, with terrible lock stick compared to my other Manix 2 LW. The le...
