Chinook Collector
I’ve been fortunate enough to track down two First Gen Chinooks, in NIB condition. This has always been my favorite Spyderco, and back when they came out (over 20 years ago), I was a not-so-rich undergrad. ~20 years later, I am lucky enough to be in a position to collect them (even at their collecto...

Re: Unusual jimping: First generation Carbon Fiber Military question
Thanks very much. I like how lightweight this knife is. Really a feather weight for such a large blade.

Unusual jimping: First generation Carbon Fiber Military question
I acquired a C36CFP Military with date code KE (Nov. 2005?)It has a CPMS30V blade with a Carbon Fiber handle. I understand this to be the very first run of Carbon Fiber Military, with only 400 made in S30V. My question for the experts: mine has an unusual jimping pattern. Could someone confirm that ...

Re: Just acquired a Chinook 1 440V
This blade is definitely a robust chunk of steel.
The grinds are beautiful though.

Just acquired a Chinook 1 440V
Was always a fan of the original Chinook.
I just acquired a NIB Original Chinook with the 440V steel.
It’s a beautiful piece, in all its heft.
Here are some pics next to my Chinook 4 and my Strider SMF.
Anyone EDC one of these? It’s going into my rotation.

Re: Got two Lil Temperance’s in G10
If you do a search some of the online retailers still have some left (they are way north of 200 now).

Got two Lil Temperance’s in G10
Always admired the MBC knives of Spyderco. I never got around to getting the Green Lil Temperance, and regretted it for many years. I found some NIB Lil Temp 3s with the black G10 scales, so I jumped on getting 2. I’m in love with this little tank. It’s truly a beautiful blade. The thick wide leaf b...

Re: Scored a NIB Warren Thomas Karambit
Thanks for all the replies.
It’s a nice little blade that really has a nasty bite (the tip got my finger in a moment of distraction).
(And thanks for the compliments on my fitness: I’ve been a powerlifter for 25 years and will be lifting until the day I die).

Scored a NIB Warren Thomas Karambit
Always admired the Warren Thomas Karambit, and finally found one NIB. This is a beautiful little piece of fine craftsmanship. It’s also a BEAST. The tip is super sharp and the frame lock is perfectly executed. I would estimate that the cost to produce this was much more than its price tag could just...

Just got a NIB Titanium ATR
Just found a NIB Titanium ATR. I love the ATR, have the stainless and two G10 models. Finally got the original in Titanium. It’s a wonderful knife. The only problem is that the compression lock allows for blade wiggle when the blade is closed. The detent keeps the blade shut; just some wiggle in the...

My Military Carbon Fiber S30V
Just received a NIB Military Carbon Fiber in S30V. I believe only 400 ever made?
This one is NIB with a KE date code.
My only gripe is the off center blade that slightly rubs when opening with the thumb hole.
Here are the pics. Anyone else have this variant? I like how light weight it is.

Considering collecting M.Strider knives
I've been knife (and gun) collecting for a long time. My favorite handguns are HK's, Colts, and Berettas. As knives go, I like Spydercos, Benchmades, and Cold Steel. I've ordered a Strider SnG (New from an ebay seller specializing in high ends). I'm thinking of getting an SMF performance with full t...

Is this a rare version of the Stretch?
Some years ago I found a Stainless Stretch with Kraton inserts. It has VG10 stee and actually came in a white box with Japanese paperwork. Can anyone offer some information on this model? I like it, it’s unique, and the kraton definitely gives it an attractive two-tone finish with enhanced ergonomic...

The ATR is a favorite of mine.
I remember when the original titanium version first came out. Back then I was a poor grad student and could not foot the hefty bill on my stipend. Now that I can buy one, I’ll keep my eye open for one on the secondary market. Nevertheless, I still enjoy the original stainless (mine is a serrated all...

Re: Can someone from spyderco confirm which is the fake Military?
Thanks! Here are two more images, the one on the left has a rounded off bevel / plunge line in the hole, the one in the right has a very sharp bevel / plunge line. Also, where the blade tangs meet the stop pin, the one on the left is below the scales, the right one is flush. Also, the one on the lef...

Can someone from spyderco confirm which is the fake Military?
I’m posting these photos because one of them I bought recently.
Can Sal or Eric or Joyce chime in on which is the fake?
Left or right?
Thanks.
