Re: Deer Hunting Mule - current and recent steel choices

I've gutted, skinned and butchered many deer with my old Sharpfinger back in the day.

I'd say any Mule would be up to the task with ease.

Re: Cowboy knives

Case didn't get started until the very late 1800's, actually forming Case Brothers in 1900.

Schrade too, was late to the game, as far as cowboys go.

I'm guessing most fixed blades were made by local blacksmiths in the middle 1800's.

Re: A Month Without Spyderco: Thoughts & Observations

Buying a product is supporting a company / person. Financially.

I'm very careful about who I support, most products have many different manufacturers, giving me a choice.

Robbie was a talented guy. Been a fan of "The Band" for many decades.

Molly Tuttle is cool, too. I love American acoustic music. Billy Strings, Gillian Welch, Tony Rice, Garcia/Grisman.

How about some Punch Brothers...

Another incentive to NOT help people. Just what we needed.

I know there have always been "highwaymen" and "snake oil salesmen" but, you get my idea.

Most towns actually now have 2 populations. The day people and the night people. It's kinda creepy.

Go to your favorite 24 hour convenience store at 3:00 a.m. and you'll see what I mean.

It'll eventually just be a truck. I did that for a few years when my 2016 was new. I quit a few years ago after the many bumps and scrapes of a normal truck's life.

Re: Knife quotes!

Love these. Keep 'em coming. When we (brothers) were teenagers, my Dad would insist you have a pocketknife, and would regularly ask to SEE it. "Let's see your knife." Like it was a test, and it WAS. You'd BETTER have one. And at least $20.00 cash. At all times. He'd call you a vagrant if y...

I'm down near Metropolis/Paducah.

Two Rivers Fisheries is the largest Asian Carp Processor in the Country, having facilities in Wickliffe and Eddyville.

I don't remember who is opening one in Cairo, which is at the confluence of the Ohio and Mississippi rivers.
