Re: What’s on your current short list?

Laid eyes on the Kapara for the first time today and it immediately made it onto my list.

Finish Variations

I recently acquired a para3 combo edge. Nothing fancy, just the normal stock model. I noticed that my stock pm2 and stock m2 both come with brushed finishes, but the para3 comes with a non brushed finish. Is this because of the combo edge, or is it a standard finish for the para3? I rather like the ...

Re: Hurricane Lee discussion

Lee has rapidly intensified to a Cat 5 hurricane. "Predictive" tracking still puts the 'cane offshore with no landfall likely in the US. If it were to make landfall, chances are very good that it will not be a major hurricane, and it will probably be somewhere in Maine. Still way too soon ...

Re: Work Sharp Ken Onion Knife Sharpener

Thanks for the great feedback! To be clear, I wouldn't want to use it on anything from Golden, more like lawn mower blades, scissors, cheap kitchen knives, etc.

In other words, anything I don't want messing up my sharp maker 😂

Re: Hurricane Lee discussion

Yeah, I live in North Carolina But, way up in the mountains. That being said, the last Hurricane that really did any damage up here, that I can remember anyways, was Hugo in '89 Hugo was one bad boy....let's hope Lee completely misses the whole east coast. At least you don't have to worry about sto...

My 25yr old Delica 3 has some play. Can’t remember if it originally did. Nothing to worry about anyway. No liners. Pinned.
Is this a frequent issue with pinned bodies?

Since this isn't about a Spyderco product, I'm moving it to Off-Topic. Please remember, General Discussion is for discussions about Spyderco. Thanks!

Re: Can anyone recommend good fabric shears?

We do quite a lot of sewing (and cutting fabric) at work. I've gone through many pairs of fabric cutting scissors over the years. Best advice for 'great value, pretty darn good': https://www.amazon.com/Fabric-Scissors-Tailor-Sewing-Shears/dp/B089SKLNN4/ref=sr_1_4_sspa?crid=8DL5ZV8C4ADU&keywords...

Re: Can anyone recommend good fabric shears?

Do some research, by simply looking up the Sharpmaker and you'll see...it's designed to sharpen scissors. As you've been told by a handful of people already...make a little effort to do some searching and you'll see most of your threads with questions, already have many answers and many topics alre...

Can anyone recommend good fabric shears?

The wife is looking for a really good pair of fabric shears for her sewing. I don't mind investing some $$ if they last and can be sharpened.

I wish Spyderco made shears! Btw will the triangle sharp maker sharpen scissors?

Gonna be a monster, for sure. And yes, it looks like the U.S. probably won't take much of a hit. :crossed-fingers A site that does a nice job of explaining tropical weather with no hype is The Eyewall. It's based in Houston, but covers any tropical weather affecting the U.S., and even more. Great i...

Hurricane Lee discussion

Let's start a conversation about this for those of us that may be affected. I'm an avid tracker so I'll pay updates here as I learn them. No matter what, if you live north of the Carolinas this storm WILL affect you on some level, but it seems like nobody in the US is going to take a direct hit (as ...

Re: Has Spyderco been to space?

What is significance of Spyderco being in Space? Think if you want to own a Spyderco you can say has been in space toss on as high as you can, or shoot attached to arrow, or in to air. They will buy you bragging right, or just be like a grifter auto salesman and tell a 1/2 truth. No significance, j...
