Hey, cool to see you having joined the forum to share some of your knowledge :-)
Personally I suck at sharpening, gave dual grit only one try using a sharpmaker and a serrated knife without any success. So still getting my skills up with conventional methods.

Great idea using dual grit on serrated edges! I'll give it a try.

My go to way to apply the heat needed to loosen loctite is too drop the knife in some hot water for a bit. Seems the least risky way to me.

Re: Is there a consensus sharpest folder?
You're looking for something with good edge retention (i.e. doesn't dull quickly in use) and probably good corrosion resistance (if you're worried about your knife rusting). Depending on how you'd prioritize these two qualities the forum might make an recommendation which steel you should go for. Th...

Re: Spyderco Seconds Sale Scores
Spyderco is a company that prefers to sell its wares through a dealer network. That might be the problem here: the idea of a factory sale is too keep the price on B-stock as low as possible, so go direct instead of relying on a middle man. From a scale perspective on the other hand it would make se...

Re: Lil' Native Wharncliffe
Still loving the Lil Native Wharncliffe. I'm a bit surprised it doesn't create more buzz around here and elsewhere. Am I just getting the wrong impression or is this one flying a bit under the general radar? I'd be down to go for a upgraded sprint version if one came around and wonder if that may ne...

Re: Sharpening & Calculating Ideal Bevel Height (trigometry!)
As the blade gets thinner towards the tip, bevel height should theoretically decrease as well, I believe.

The German equivalent to sharpie would be Edding. @kontei, where do you live, maybe a fellow forum user could help you out? I'm in Bonn for what it's worth.

Re: Lil' Native Wharncliffe
Received mine today, wonderfully light, factory edge is perfect as far as I can tell and the action is how I prefer it. It's my first compression lock knife, still getting used to that aspect. It's going to live on my workbench (carry laws don't permit locking blades here). I could imagine it being ...
