Re: Cheap diamond stones — you probably want some
They will work a month or two till the diamonds fall off. With expensive diamonds, your paying for flatness, a good bond and consistant diamond size. Just get a marble slab and some silicon carbide. I have under $16 in a set up like that I use to lap whet stones. Would sharpen the same as sand paper...

Re: Shipping of internal parts
After trying to get a simple faulty pivot screw shipped to me, and that being a 4 month battle of calls and emails, I have no doubt that spyderco is as you say not capable of providing internal parts to customers.

Re: Extra Large Backlock Salt
On this topic, I saw today ontario knofe works has a new line of what they call camp kitchen knives that are lock backs. Those models look a lot liek what we are asking for here. Sans the inflated prices and crappy screws that fall out.

Re: Knife & Watch
Had on one of my grand seikos today, and had both a helle harding and a bench made 531 mel pardue. Apparently the photos my galaxy takes are too high of resolution for spyderco. They say it shows the flaws in the frn molding.

Re: Extra Large Backlock Salt
That would be a really big folder. Again, would it sell enough? Spyderco has to predict that, via educated guess. A lot of models not selling is spydercos own doing. When they make models have a long wait, limited production, release the colors and materials I want months after I bought a different...

Re: What's your preferred EDC blade style?
My preferred is a hawkbill serrated. That list bit of the tip is still a plain edge, hawk bill makes all cutting effortless. Wish there was an hawkbill enduramodel There was... the SpyderHawk. It was based on the endura 3 handle. It was discontinued long ago and sprintedor recently. Well that was a...

Re: On second thought, why not try something different.
I fly fish all over the rocky mountains. I carry a nice scandi blade when ever im fishing or hunting. Expensive, but solid knives. Sometimes i have it in a pack or leave it in the jeep. Then i just pull out my endura or tasman, ive gutten many trout with these. Im not super picky about knives as lon...

Re: Sharpening Dual Grit Edges
Hey, cool to see you having joined the forum to share some of your knowledge :-) Personally I suck at sharpening, gave dual grit only one try using a sharpmaker and a serrated knife without any success. So still getting my skills up with conventional methods. Thanks for the response! IMO no one suc...

This is really interesting. I like the idea. I have long practiced sharpening edges heel to toe, and toe to heel, to get the teeth in both directio s with much success.

Re: Took Apart My Endura
Spuderco gets touchy about knives being dissaseembled. They put them together with magic smoke or something.Scandi Grind wrote: ↑Mon Aug 21, 2023 9:01 pmI think both sides of the argument have made fair points. I'd like to keep the topic from de-railing now though please.
Good news is our scandi blades dont have screws.
