Re: Question for Sal and Eric
I think part of the problem is spyderco knives are designed around the gradual sweep of the leaf shaped blade. So the quick turn up of the end of a tanto point would not sit as well in the handle of many designs

Re: Question for Sal and Eric
Tantos are not a very practical slicing knife design. The design was made for stabbing for combat knives. Maybe kinda like why we dont have "bowie" blade shaped spyderco versions My tanto slices well. Some people just don't know how to sharpen. And blame the knife instead. I bet if I shar...

Tasman is also a wonderful serrated cutter. Due to its curve it slices like nuts

Re: Street Steel Book Review
Thats a great post Mike. Perhaps you could self publish the book in digital format online? Maybe add a few chapters onto it to add updates for the more modern designs you mentioned? There is really nothing in that book that is not still accurate and usable. And with the spyderco police being so prev...

Re: Jim Green boots?
I had bought a pair of the razorback boots from jim green back in september, been holding off on a review till ive worn them. Really excellent boot. The natural rubber sole has big lugs that grip well on the rocks here in wyoming. Wore them hunting quite a few days with my dog, and wear them anytime...

Re: Knife Laws are weird to me.
Here in wyoming there are no laws regulating style or size of knives for owning or carrying. Id suggest leaving the states run by over bearing dictators.

Re: Street Steel Book Review
Strange thread, OP. Were you trying to catch people off balance with carefully withheld information so you might embarrass them? Runs counter to this forum’s vibe, no? All I did is say hey this is a good book. The people who chose to take shots at the book without having a clue what it is brought t...

Re: Street Steel Book Review
Oh, the book is by Michael Janich? I didn’t know. Im curious to know why your thought process for a book about how to pick and carry knives, receives its credibility based on how many knife fights the author has been in, without even knoeing the author. Many people who have been in more knife fight...

I’ll throw my hat into the ring yet again to ask for an all black Ladybug Hawkbill! I’ve been asking for it for years, so I’m not actually expecting it to happen, but it doesn’t hurt to ask again. We need this in regular production! https://i.imgur.com/prKmQrY.jpg Spyder edge hawkbills are knife pe...

Street Steel Book Review
Just received the 1990s publication titled "Street Steel" in today. Am only a few chapters in, but am really enjoying the authors credibility of understanding deffense with knives. Really stands out in todays world of "professional youtube" "tactical experts" who recomm...
