Re: Death that doesn't matter?
Death to me would be a blessing. Let's just say my upbringing, multiple upbringings, adoption home, mental illness, judgement, religious garbage, and abuse on a daily basis soured my outlook on living. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy life. But being pragmatic and realistic. I also realize I wish I could...

Re: Counterfeit Knife?
I just looked at my Endura from SMKW. An authorized seller. Looks same as yours. I am pretty sure yours is legit.
Do you know the name of the specific vendor? And if you have doubts simply return it or have Spyderco verify it's authenticity by mailing it to them directly.

Those Sears catalogs of my grandmas in the early 1980's corrupted me in my childhood.akapennypincher wrote: ↑Tue Feb 21, 2023 9:09 amSears was better because it had hot chicks on underwear, and see through night gowns.WilliamMunny wrote: ↑Mon Feb 20, 2023 5:36 amThe Spyderco catalog makes me feel like a kid again looking at the Sears catalog for Christmas.

Re: Straight Razor from Spyderco
I am dangerous enough to my own safety with cartridge and a safety razor. God forbid me using a straight razor.
But I would love to see Spyderco undertake a straight razor project.
I would buy one from Spyderco just to own it.

Re: Model request : Pry-Byrd - specialised knife w/ blade for light prying
My guess is pry type knives are subject to failure due to the heat treat. Take a crow bar or axe. The HT runs from mid 30's to mid 40's. Toughness is the main reason. Knife blades. Even the basic Buck 420HC runs far above a crow bar or axe. And something like S30v is just not going to cut it. I thin...

Re: Question for Sal and Eric
i think he was just saying that the blade shape wouldn't fit in most spyderco handles. that seems fairly obvious that blades and handles are typically designed together and spyderco wouldn't be shoehorning a tanto blade into a handle that doesn't cover the blade when closed. i'm not sure what the p...

Re: Question for Sal and Eric
Those two knives are great examples of how having the tip so far up from the edge will not fit in most spyderco handles. Draw that on an endura or a police, and it will be a useful cutting tool with the blade closed. :winking-tongue Your meaning escapes me. The only handles that matter in my post a...

My Eggs were $1.98/dozen last week. Lucky guy. I been paying $5 to $6.49 for a dozen eggs. And I am no where near a small farm to buy them at a better price. I been trying egg beaters but they just not the same or cook up without sticking to the pan. Omelets are a thing of the past for me. Well I s...

Shaving Soap\Can Foam Blues.
I just had some interesting safety razor shaves the last few days and I am very perplexed. Forgive me if I rant a bit. But I am not the best on this subject. And relatively new to wet shaving with a safety razor. I tried some $5 shaving soap. And I have sensitive skin. Especially in the winter. Eve...

What constitutes a tanto is surprisingly broad. This diagram of various tanto profiles with cross sections might interest some. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/99/Tanto_blade_styles.svg Nice find. And these profiles are themselves just themes. My two seem to be variations on the Sh...

Re: Question for Sal and Eric
My tanto slices well. Some people just don't know how to sharpen. And blame the knife instead. I bet if I sharpen a tanto and I squeeze on the blade. I will probably need stitches. Tantos are capable of both slicing and stabbing. Ninjas and Samurai of old did not seem to have issue with either. On ...

Re: Question for Sal and Eric
If Spyderco decide to release a tanto in their Golden,Seki City, or Chinese Byrd line. I will buy one Your phrasing leads me to ask if you’re unaware of Eric’s Tanto PM2. The grind, which Sal has raved about, is something to behold. The long edge is a Wharncliffe and the short edge is also flat. As...

Re: Deadbolt lock original, improved upon, borrowed, influenced, or stolen
Just for reference: Good article from Doug Ritter’s site on the Paul Poehlamn lock which includes the patent papers. www.dougritter.com/Paul_Poehlmann.htm Thanks a million for sharing that link. I am very intrigued with Paul Poehlman. Maybe one day I can afford one of his knives. His work was ahead...
