Re: First PM2 question about Cruwear and Micarta

Well, thanks for the replies. I really went back and forth, ordered it a few hours ago and even was tempted to call my dealer and switch my choice if it hasn't shipped, but I went with the crucarta, I figure I can always buy the other one down the road if I really don't like this one as much. Really...

First PM2 question about Cruwear and Micarta

So looking to pick up my first PM2 (bought the Smock then Shaman a week later and am now on a spyderco kick as I love both so far) I am having a **** of a time trying to decide on the s45vn with G10 or the cruwear with Micarta. Now it seemed like an easy decision at first, I like micarta (just not b...

Re: Smock vs. Sliverax

Smock hands down, not really sure how the voting favors the sliverax, Its not even a top 20 spyderco while the smock is probably top 5 in a lot of peoples lists

Re: Taking apart knives - part 2

Have taken apart many knives, mostly benchmade but just a few weeks ago got my first Spyderco (Smock) and the overall build quality really surprised me, I know Spyderco is a quality brand but I didnt know just how good until I got one in my hand, I had plans to buy another benchmade to add to my col...

Re: Benchmade guy

I am a benchmade guy and was looking at grabbing a Adamas or Freek then something happened.... First spyderco knife...absolutely love it, fit, finish is awesome, wondering what took so long now, Shaman is now on the radar this weekend, guess I can grab that Adamas or Freek down the road Funny enoug...

Re: Benchmade guy

I was never really a fan of the looks of most spyderco like delicas, enduras, PM2 and 3 and most others, didn't understand the hype, but when I first saw the smock I wanted it and same with the Shaman, that smooth handle to spine without the big lump above the hole like others, I was basically looki...

Re: Welcome to the Mule Team Sub-Forum!

So how do we get one? I don’t want them to sell out before I even know they went live. Also what is the “best” one to get of the three being released? The Z-Max seemed cool to me with high edge retention. I have a Manix with S30V and it never really holds an edge long. I am also curious, I see the ...

Re: Chief or Shaman for self defense?

Probably the chief looking at the stats, but either would work for me as I am not out in cougar territory without my dog (Argentine dogo) god forbid a cougar attacks the dogo can fight it off for a few seconds while I stab the **** out of it, but when in the bush I normally have my 7 inch Ka-bar

Re: Patina on Rex 76?

Mules are definitely good to go up here in Canada. The CBSA uses our very vague guidelines around folding knives to justify their confiscations. Any standard fixed blade is GTG. I have got the last 6 or 7 mules up here no problem and I don't know anyone up here who has had a Mule nabbed by CBSA. Aw...

Re: Patina on Rex 76?

Awesome, I am in Canada and well, we have silly laws so ordering anything from the US might get seized at the border, same as if I had to send a knife in for warranty work even though its perfectly legal to buy the knife here, CBSA are just thieves it seems. I assume that makes it so I would never b...

Re: Patina on Rex 76?

I am still waiting on a special order of scale materials to do the three Rex76 mules i've received. In the meanwhile, I've been using the one I plan to keep with the G10 scales (wich fit differently than on the previous mules, the shadowboxing is not the same everywhere, and it's bigger). The one I...

Re: Spyderco Knock-offs, "Replicas"and Fakes

Benchmade has the same issue, tons of fakes some super obvious and others almost identical. I'd love to know what steel they actually use when it claims M390 or S90v etc. I'm sure it's not that but I'd hope it's not AUS6 or some super cheap steel, don't want to get ripped off THAT bad lol I have a f...
