Re: Was the Nirvana just too expensive?

That’s a good point. I wonder: was that based on a fair amount of hype? Or Exclusivity? Limited production numbers? It appears as if the MSRP was only $0.05 higher than the original, at $500.00 even. Yet it sold at for nearly $100.00 higher. There was a lot of demand for any Slysz Bowie with the or...

Re: How Old Were You When You Began Carrying?

Kindergarten or first grade I got my first little pocket pen knife from my Great Grandfather. I don't think I really started carrying until around fifth or sixth grade when I bout a Kamp King pocket knife with my own money from a hardware store. That lasted until high school (well I would end up wit...

Re: Best Spyderco for a Kid?

It sounds like you are chasing a folder recommendation. If so, plenty of suggestions here. Just for something else to consider. Don’t underestimate the benefits of a fixed blade. Something like a Bow River. Fine for anything she will tackle outdoors. Won’t fold back on her fingers. It is easy for y...

Re: Fat guy problem: I keep losing knives when they're clipped to my pocket

1. Carry it in pocket, forget the clip. 2. Try the back pocket. I carried that way for years and didn't have many issues with the knife falling out. That was with an old school FRN clip. With a metal clip I'd worry less. Back pocket for the win. I have some rattan like chairs on the front porch tha...

Re: Any Spyderco Military sprint runs or exclusives coming out besides REX45?

Bringing back a dead thread because as I sit here thumb flicking my new to me Military in CTS-XHP I am quickly becoming a huge fan. Every morning it is a decision between it and my Stretch 2 XL as to which will get to go with me for the day. My Native Chiefs are pissed. Anywho, I know there was talk...

Re: Tactical Pens Revisited

I am of the mind set that "tactical" pens should be more of the kubotan type weapon than a put a hole in you type. A good wack with one in the chest stops a lot of people in their tracks, at least enough to gain some distance or control over the situation. I like my Embassy Pen from County...

Re: Toughness vs Edge Retention vs Corrosion Resistance: What do you prioritize the most?

I live close to the coast in NW Fla. That said I have never had a problem with rust or corrosion on any of my knives including a well used 1095 Junglas. I guess I just wipe them down and make sure they get a little oil. Anyway, for me it depends on the type of knife. For folders I generally want edg...

Here ya go, added a picture of a great knife. Problem is that now it is history as the DLC version is sold out. Still quite a few satin blade ones left (399).

All I want is a Millie with teeth. Let’s say … one in AEB-L.
This could be interesting.
But instead I might just pick up a full SE Police in K390, yeah I prefer G10 but . . .

Re: upgraded steels for less popular models

I am kind of weird on steels. On my fixed blades that I have hung on to and use hard I have 1056, O1 and 80crv2. On my folders I like all the fancy steels to try but if push came to shove would be quite happy with folders of CTS-XHP.

That is one I missed out on at the time due to price. What a sweet model. Enjoy it!
Same here and then this one popped up on Facebook at a price I could not say no to. Impulse buy, but, one I am not sorry about.
