Titanium blades - how hard can they get / how do they hold up?

I saw a full titanium fixed blade that kinda caught my eye, but I thought titanium could not be hardened very much. Is that thought wrong? The description says "blade has been carbidized for longer life" and only lists the material as "Titanium", but obviously I would expect an a...

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up

Does anyone know if it's possible to blade swap with an original C60? I NEED tip up carry and non-aluminum scales, but the VG10 blade is prettier IMHO. Blasphemy I know. Not hopeful as it appears pinned...

I still hope to score a serrated, but that blade grind is less than ideal up front if standard.

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up

Ive missed a week of this thread! Shame on me. At this point I have only seen the 1 stock picture, but i notice the serrations in the demo pic are significantly less deep than my original. The classic is indeed extremely 'toothy'. The cutting action may be a little smoother on the new ones if that's...

Re: FRN Strength / Durability

It is ironic that the less expensive scale material, FRN, is the one I like the best. Usually I like the expensive option. I understand the high cost of injection molds, but once they are made, the cost per scale goes way down. FRN is light, tough, comfortable in hand, and easy on pockets. The trac...

Re: Curved SE blade w/Compression lock? or Regrind services?

Ya, the Tasman salt with CL is exactly what I'm looking for, but the back lock is a deal breaker. Bummer all the curved blades are back lock it seems. I wonder why that is

Re: Curved SE blade w/Compression lock? or Regrind services?

I like the look of that and it meets most of my criteria, but the only one I see is $500 on ebay :(
Thanks for mentioning that. the superhawk wasnt on my radar

Curved SE blade w/Compression lock?

I want a new knife - Basically a PM3LW with a Hawkbill or S blade to make it more of a self defense knife. I looked through the catalog and it seems all the hawkbill or S blades like the Harpy, Civilian, matriarch, etc are back lock but I dont want a back lock or CBBL. Only compression lock (on the ...

Re: Montbell Pirka

Wow, I want one now! Its the amalgamation of 2 of my all time favorite brands. I have 2 jackets and down pants from montbell and they're top notch for backpacking. Montbell low and mid range stuff offers great value for the $, same as spyderco. Their high end stuff is pricey but also industry leadin...

Ladybug Salt woth combo edge! **** yes.

A blood loss specific kit like the cut kit would also be great for the shooting range

I'm in for at least one

Favorite Lock?

Im not sure if this has been discussed to death, but it didnt come up in the first few pages of a search, so I'll ask - What is your favorite lock and why? For me its the back compression lock because it is the most flickable (my knives are fidget objects in addition to matter separators), it can be...

Re: Questionable tag lines & shiny footprints

I talked with the spyderco crew at Shot Show for quote a while and everyone at this company is so cool. Down to earth. Loves what they do. The people of Spyderco are a large part of why I am a single brand collector. (I also just like the look of their knives more than others!) Just wanted to say, i...

Re: Para 3 Lightweight

Mine was tight out of the box, as in hard to flick consistently. After folding it a bunch it got slightly looser but not acceptable. Then I loosened the pivot screw a few degrees and now it will close via gravity. There is a tiny amount of blade play, but is only noticeable if i intentionally look f...

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up

After carrying this knife (carefully) for a few days now - I love it because it is quite unique amd just looks bad ***. I intend to attempt getting one from the next release but we'll see how that goes. As an extension of the Ayoob line, I would love to see the "Ayoobita" or "little A...

It's as great as they say.
Must resist urge to EDC this. Lol.
Agree it would be a slightly better knife with tip up and compression lock. But quite nice feeling in an OG sorta way

Re: Increase in Exclusives?

I could care less about the exclusivity part of it, I just dont like most of the standard steel options and color combos for non-exclusives, so I end up seeking out exclusives. It would be nice to have more high end steels on regular production knives. I'll live with swapping scales if I can find a ...

Re: Loosening up P3LW swing?

Well I've tried loosening the pivot screw and stop screw a tad (Doesnt take much adjustment, ±15° between locked up and completely loose). I thought there was no difference but now I see its not actually the pivot binding up - the liner is flexing and creates friction which binds up the swing. Norma...
