Re: LC200n? What am I doing wrong
pics? those are some really abusive materials you're cutting. i've had my caribbean teeth roll on hard plastic straps, but the rolling wasn't irreparable. if you can sharpen serrations, it shouldn't be too bad to fix them. how bad was the rolling? Enough to see it and catch a thumbnail on the flat ...

LC200n? What am I doing wrong
Ok this might sound ignorant? Twice since December I have ruined 2 salt2’s LC200n blades #1 I cut some black poly water line and rolled the serrated edge, and couldn’t get it back to working shape # 2 has rolled its edge after I opened a few bags of rocks salt and 1 bag of cement Did I buy the wrong...

Re: Stainless steels and peak sharpness
The 20CV Zoomer takes an amazing edge and the hamaguri grind is quite easy to maintain. Slices like a champ even on harder vegetables as well as potatoes. I use a full set of AEB-L kitchen knives (LTWK). They do easily take and keep an very keen edge. It’s a a great steel for daily use! My 20cv zom...

Re: Strop vs hone?
Being a butcher for 20 years steels are the most left out arsenal in keeping a edge. It won’t sharpen a dull blade but it will keep a good edge longer. A lot longer When people comment about a knife loosing a edge after 3 deer……Try 20 bodies of beef in a day :winking-tongue Here is my F-Dick steel ...

Re: Strop vs hone?
Man I love my sharpening steels/hone victornox 600 grit diamond steel/hone works great on ZDP189,20cv , m390, s90v, vg10 , I use a strop a lot on these steels, diamond spray on basswood and also diamond on leather ,zdp189 strops good with pikal metal polish on leather As a matter of fact I stroped m...

Re: H-2 vs. H-1
Do the H1 fans have anything against LC200N? It seems like a vast improvement over H1 to me. I was thinking that demand for H1 would eventually taper off and die out. I am surprised that it's getting a replacement at all. Not at all (not that I would be some kind of hard core H1 fan, not really), b...

Is it a hoax?
As I can’t seem to find anything on internet about H2 except some thing about better for the environment and maybe made in Europe? Sweden?

Re: Need a quick fix on salt2 blade
Hmmm, maybe not the best steel for the harder use side of things. And much as I love SE it can be fragile and difficult to repair. Have you considered something a little stouter? Manix 2 plain edge would be my recommendation. Yes I duel edc carry, the salt 2 & a PE endura vg10 or a S35vn tenaci...

Re: Need a quick fix on salt2 blade
Cutting plastic rolled the edge? I thought LC200N was kinda sorta ok steel. I was told that H-1 and LC200n are weak with side load cutting on blade forums “” I believe the black plastic you are referencing has a Shore A Hardness rating of 100, which is actually pretty high. Plastic zip-ties (simila...

Re: Need a quick fix on salt2 blade
Ok got some of the roll out , my serrations didn’t make out well but its better Sounds like you really need the new Webfoot for field sharpening. Should be aggressive enough to fix edge damage and put a nice coarse edge on that'll be good for a working knife. Or maybe a vg10 Endura Wharncliffe and ...

Need a quick fix on salt2 blade
Working out here on the ranch , the salt2 serrated has rolled the edge while I was cutting some Black poly water line and mule tape on a 2x8 cutting board , it’s rolled enough that I can catch on my thumb nail and see it . What kinda strop compound works on LC200n if I try a super flat angle? Or wha...

It’s ok , blood patina adds some character to a knife!! :hand-over-mouth “” I'm sorry but I thought you were doing fun out of me I'm just an inexperienced knife user, sometimes I make a fool of myself and I prefer to avoid answering. Re: Spyderco knives
It doesn’t take a big knife to do 90% of my edc task , and I carry I small S30v 2 inch blade It opens feed bags, cut my food @ lunch, skins some game, rope, string, boxes, tape Size is objective, it’s how you use it And if you wip out a big lunker in public it scares some folks, so I got work knives...

I stand corrected and perhaps a bit more confused. I could say more but instead you guys need to read more Knife Steel Nerds and Knife Engineering I can’t re-write the whole book here. I appreciate your unexpected reply. I know where to find the knowledge you have provided, but I’m out of my depth ...
