Re: Discussion: What do you think is the best size for an EDC folder?
Edc depends on what one does during the day. Someone in an office answering phones all day has different tasks than a landscaper. The landscaper can easily carry and use a larger knife than the desk jockey in mixed company. The sage is probably one of knives that would be acceptable in any environme...

Re: Sal, how about a Chaparral with 2.5mm blade thickness?
I prefer the thin blade of the chaparral, and would prefer not adding any thickness to the overall package. For something with an easier to operate lockbar, a couple good options are the slightly shorter g10 dragonfly or the slightly longer native.

I would be very interested in a chaparral xl. Thin blade, backlock, g10. A lw version would be good too.

Re: How Spyderco came out on top
I bought a se dragonfly aus8 with the clip molded in, in the 90s. That knife sold me on spyderco. I have always liked smaller profile, very useful knives.

Re: Bottom of pocket/clipless carry ?
I rarely use the clip most days.. I actually take them off each/every dragonfly and chaparral I carry. I prefer them simply loose in the pocket. I tend to primarily use the clip on larger/heavier knives. The delica/salt2/native that get carried are about 50/50 clip free, as they are more borderline ...

Re: Spyderedged Blades: A Total Mis-Understanding Maybe?
Added to my post above: Spydersaw. Very light...Discontinued unfortunately https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/T02/Spyderco-SpyderSaw/51 Now that is something I would be interested in. Once used the saw on a leatherman wave to clear a couple downed smaller trees/limbs while on a forest road in...

Re: Your Thoughts of an Ideal Companion Blade?
At this point, a dragonfly or chaparral is my main use/carry, as anything larger simply is not compatible with my daily tasks and interactions with the public. A companion blade is something not on me, so it tends to be larger. Similar to others, I have found the multi-tool a good choice, as well as...

Yes, sage backlock micarta with cts-xhp. Would not mind a lw backlock sage, either.

I am looking forward to this one coming 1st quarter.
I like serrations, but this thin blade is a great slicer as is.

Re: Dragonflies are like rabbits
The first spyderco I purchased, was one of the earlier dragonfly SE with the clip molded in the handle. Really liked that knife, and is the reason I bought more from spyderco. Have a few of the newer dragonfly now. The zdp189 is with me most of the time. The only thing I did not like on the original...

Re: Another way to find out which of your Spyders you really need ;) (Phantasy-knife-world: Court took all your knives..
Listed in order, assuming kitchen/table knives were not taken. Dragonfly zdp-189. I simply have this knife on me more, though H1 SE version was close, see choice 2 Salt 2 SE. This is soo close to taking top spot, and I do like SE H1 Chaparral LW. Great slicer, great size/weight for clipless pocket c...

Re: So what's your top 3 favorite steels? and why?
SE H1. SE is tough, rust proof, easy to touch up/sharpen, great for outdoors and indoors, can handle cleaning neglect if outdoors for long periods of time..Note, LC200N PE may give this a serious run for the money for my uses, if offered in similar knives I currently use. ZDP189, holds a very sharp ...
